About the Role: 

We are seeking a Senior Firmware QC Engineer specializing in embedded systems to join our Quality Control team. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of firmware releases for our embedded IoT products. Your work will focus on rigorous testing and validation of firmware and operating system builds, I/O testing, firmware update processes, integration testing between embedded devices and mobile applications, and detailed feature analysis based on product requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review product requirements and analyze features to define clear testing objectives.
• Develop detailed test plans, including estimation of testing efforts and timelines.
• Perform regression testing to ensure stable OS and firmware releases.
• Conduct I/O testing
• Execute and validate Firmware Over-the-Air (OTA) update processes, ensuring reliability and consistency.
• Perform comprehensive integration testing between embedded firmware and mobile applications, ensuring seamless communication and functionality.
• Conduct Functional Testing to ensure that the embedded system accurately performs its intended functions.
• Execute Performance Testing to examine the system's behavior under various conditions and loads, particularly in real-time applications.
• Collaborate closely with Firmware Developers, Mobile Developers, and Hardware Engineers to address identified issues and ensure product reliability.
• Document detailed test procedures, test cases, results, and clearly report findings

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electronics, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
• Good proficiency in English for effective communication and documentation.
• At least 3 years of experience in Firmware or Embedded Systems QC/testing.
• Solid understanding of embedded systems, OS build processes, and GPIO operations.
• Experience testing firmware OTA updates and automated OS installation.
• Hands-on experience with testing tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzers, multimeters).
• Familiarity with Linux command line operations for connecting and interacting with hardware.
• Strong understanding of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for root-cause analysis.
• Good communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with embedded Linux systems.
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash) for test automation.
• Experience with testing frameworks like pytest for robust test creation and execution.
• Experience using JIRA or similar tools for defect tracking and agile project management.
• Prior experience with integration testing of mobile applications and embedded firmware.
