Job description

We are looking for an experienced IT Test Manager to lead the QA function for POEMS, our multi-asset trading platform across web and mobile.

You will lead a QA team and be responsible for testing strategy, quality assurance, release readiness, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Trading, Operations, and other teams to ensure our trading platform is reliable, secure, and high quality.

Key Responsibilities

1. QA Strategy & Quality Management

• Define and manage the overall QA strategy, testing standards, processes, and quality roadmap.
• Ensure consistent testing practices and quality standards across projects and releases.

2. Team Management & Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the QA team.
• Manage team resources, performance, hiring, and career development.
• Build a collaborative and high-performing QA team.

3. Test Planning & Delivery

• Manage test planning and execution across functional, regression, integration, system, and UAT testing.
• Coordinate QA activities across multiple projects and releases.
• Manage testing priorities, risks, and delivery commitments.

4. Trading Platform Testing

• Drive QA for key trading functions, including order management, trade execution, market data, risk, and settlement.
• Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of critical trading workflows.

5. Technical & Automation

• Guide the team on test automation, API, database, performance, and security testing.
• Promote appropriate use of automation to improve testing efficiency and coverage.

6. Release & Quality Management

• Manage defects, testing risks, and release quality.
• Define quality criteria and provide QA sign-off and release recommendations.

7. Process Improvement & Metrics

• Continuously improve QA processes, tools, and testing practices.
• Monitor QA metrics and identify areas for improvement.

8. Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with Product, Engineering, Trading, Operations, and other stakeholders to resolve quality issues.
• Communicate testing status, risks, and recommendations to management.

9. Compliance & Risk

• Ensure testing practices consider relevant security, compliance, and data privacy requirements.

Your skills and experience

Overall Experience

• 8–10 years of experience in software QA/testing.
• 3–4+ years of experience managing and leading QA teams, preferably teams of 10+ people.

QA Expertise

• Strong hands-on experience in test planning, execution, defect management, regression testing, and release quality.
• Experience managing QA delivery across multiple projects or releases.

Trading & Capital Markets

• Experience testing trading or capital markets platforms is required.
• Good understanding of trading workflows such as order management, trade execution, market data, risk, and settlement.
• Experience with equities, derivatives, CFDs, forex, funds, or bonds is an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Good technical knowledge of API, SQL/database testing, test automation, and performance testing.
• Familiarity with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, Postman, JMeter, Jira, or TestRail is an advantage.
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum and CI/CD practices.

Leadership & Delivery Management

• Strong ability to lead QA activities, manage priorities, resources, risks, and delivery commitments.
• Strong people-management, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.

Communication

• Professional-level written and spoken English is mandatory.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
