Role Summary

We're looking for a detail-oriented QA & Business Test Analyst who makes sure ShipCheck produces the right results, not just that the system runs. You'll add much-needed testing capacity alongside our QA engineer and take ownership of business-facing validation across our core modules - starting with freight audit and extending to shipment import, tendering, and benchmarking. Your job is to test the platform the way a business user would: knowing which data to check and confirming that what ShipCheck produces matches what the business actually expects.

What you'll do

• Test from a business perspective: validate core modules (freight audit first, then shipment import, tendering, and benchmarking) against real business scenarios - confirming results match expected outcomes, not only that the system produced output.
• Own business-result validation: know which customers, providers, shipments, and contracts to test, and reconcile ShipCheck's output against the expected reference results.
• Design and run functional tests: turn business requirements into test cases, execute manual and exploratory testing, and cover cross-feature and regression scenarios.
• Manage defects: log, prioritize, and track issues to resolution, and verify fixes before release.
• Grow test automation: help build and maintain an automated regression suite so repeated checks scale as we ship faster.
• Work closely with QA and engineering: partner with our QA engineer to cross-check scenarios and provide a second, business-focused view on quality.
• Partner with Product, Customer Success, and business experts: run sessions to learn how to read results (freight audit, tenders, benchmarks) from a business angle, and document expected behavior.
• Enable confident releases: provide business sign-off on critical flows so we can deploy new versions with confidence.

Your skills and experience

Must-have experience

• 2+ years in software QA / testing (functional and manual testing, test-case design, defect management).
• Strong analytical and data skills - comfortable working in spreadsheets, reconciling numbers, and spotting discrepancies (a freight audit is, at its core, "does the calculated amount match what was expected?").
• Ability to learn a business domain quickly and test from the user's and business perspective, not just technical acceptance.
• Structured, detail-oriented, and proactive in surfacing issues early.
• Good communication in English (B2+); comfortable working in a distributed team across time zones.

Nice to have

• Test automation experience (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium; API testing with Postman; pytest).
• Basic SQL or the ability to query data for validation.
• Logistics / supply chain domain exposure: freight audit, rating, tendering, or EDI/e-invoicing.
• Experience testing B2B SaaS or data-heavy analytics products.
• Familiarity with Jira and test-management tools.
• German language a plus, given our European customer base.
