Job description
Context: Nexlab is building an AI-First hospital platform for an international general hospital in HCMC — patient app, self-service kiosk, doctor assist tools, deeply integrated with the Hospital Information System (HIS). We operate in a lean team model with AI tooling throughout the process: one person owns the entire feature lifecycle from idea to spec to design handed off to dev. This position is not a coordinating PM — you are the product creator and the HIS business point of contact for the project.
Job Description:
A. Product
- Own roadmap and backlog according to release milestones: decide which features go into which version, what gets delayed behind feature flags, based on actual HIS integration capabilities and the hospital's operational readiness.
- Define product behavior for AI features: suggestion vs. decision boundaries, medical staff approval flows, handling AI uncertainty.
- Balance patient experience, hospital operations, and digital health legal constraints; present trade-offs for informed decision making by management.
B. HIS & Integration
- Act as the business point of contact with the HIS vendor: finalize API lists, verify integration documentation, UAT each endpoint according to actual medical examination processes. - Design and monitor transition operations: supervised manual entry flows running in parallel with API integration, criteria for switching each flow to automatic.
- Manage HIS vendor dependency risks: track API delivery commitments, activate backup plans when delayed, report schedule impact.
C. Business Analysis
- Write PRD and acceptance criteria deep enough for devs to build immediately, without a middle BA layer: mapping medical processes, data flows for reception – queues – lab test indications – results – billing – health insurance, edge cases, error states.
- Coordinate UAT with medical staff (doctors, nurses, cashiers, receptionists); transform clinical feedback into controlled spec changes.
D. Design
- Create UX flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity screens within the project's locked design system — no reinventing visual language, but must produce complete screens for dev handoff with behavioral specs.
- Design QA on builds: compare implementation against design, including animation, empty/error states, Vietnamese UI content.
- Design for specific contexts: elderly patients on touch kiosks, medical staff operating quickly during shifts, personal information on public screens.
Your skills and experience
Requirements:
Mandatory: - 5+ years in software product management, with at least 2 years in healthcare or hospital projects in Vietnam.
- Direct experience working with at least one popular HIS in Vietnam (HSoft, FPT.eHospital, VNPT HIS, Viettel HIS, or equivalent) in integration, deployment, or business analysis roles; understand outpatient workflow and health insurance billing; capable of reading HL7/FHIR, ICD-10 at a working level.
- Have shipped products to production where you personally wrote specs and designed screens — proven by portfolio, "coordinating with design/BA teams" is not accepted.
- Technical foundation sufficient to work directly with devs and architects: read API docs, understand microservices, distinguish real technical limits from implementation limits.
- Proficient in AI tooling in daily workflow (Claude/ChatGPT for specs and research, AI design tools) — an operational requirement, not a plus.
- Made scope cut/delay decisions under deadline pressure and defended them to senior stakeholders. - Good English for reading technical documentation.
Nice to have:
- Participated in system go-live at an operating hospital (without stopping patient intake).
- Experience with multi-touchpoint products (app + kiosk + web) sharing a data foundation.
- Experience with products containing AI/LLM components in production; understand personal data protection regulations in healthcare in Vietnam.
- Able to use both Figma and design-to-code tools; understand design tokens and component systems.
