About the role
The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring the seamless operation, reliability, and ongoing maintenance of the organisation’s IT infrastructure. This role is critical in supporting the technology backbone of the business, ensuring systems remain secure, high-performing, and highly available.
The successful candidate will take ownership of a broad range of responsibilities, playing a key role in maintaining a stable and efficient IT environment while supporting business operations and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Systems
- Proven experience provisioning, configuring, and maintaining servers, endpoints, and core IT infrastructure.
- Strong ability to manage both on-premises and cloud-based environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Hands-on experience with system monitoring tools, alert management, and incident resolution aligned with SLAs.
- Experience performing system patching, updates, and performance optimisation.
Cloud & Platforms
- Experience administering cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure, with a focus on performance, cost optimisation, and security.
- Familiarity with Atlassian Cloud (Jira and related tools) administration and support.
Deployment & Operations
- Experience managing software deployments and releases with minimal business disruption.
- Strong understanding of backup and disaster recovery processes, including implementation and testing.
Networking & Security
- Solid knowledge of network and security infrastructure management.
- Ability to apply best practices to safeguard systems, data, and business operations.
Microsoft 365 & End-User Services
- Experience administering Microsoft 365, including user management, security configurations, and service optimisation.
Incident Management & Documentation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve incidents efficiently.
- Experience maintaining accurate system documentation and tracking issues through to resolution.
Information Security
- Good understanding of security policies and best practices.
- Ability to support and promote security awareness across teams.
- Experience contributing to risk mitigation, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Familiarity with ensuring compliance with organisational security standards, including vendor security practices.
Your skills and experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, or a similar role.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in team leadership or people management is required.
- Strong experience administering Windows Server environments and supporting end-user computing, including desktop support, OS builds, and troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to manage and support cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Microsoft Azure.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure monitoring tools and proactive incident management.
- Solid understanding of backup, restore, and disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Strong knowledge of network infrastructure and security principles, including firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection.
- Experience administering Microsoft 365, including user management, security, and compliance.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Atlassian Cloud (Jira and related platforms), with a strong focus on administration, configuration, optimisation, and end-user support.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- High attention to detail with a hands-on, proactive approach to troubleshooting and system maintenance.

1 WORKING HOURS
- Working hours is flexible and the standard guideline is between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with 1 hour break for lunch.
