Job description
About The Role
- Crossian is a high-growth technology-driven e-commerce business. As a start-up formed in 2020, we have created a fast-paced and dynamic environment, enabling our people to reach a cumulative average growth rate of over 1000% in the last 5 years.
- The Operations System keeps the company running behind the scenes - systems for supply chain, suppliers, warehouses, logins, scheduling, and more, all built specifically for how Crossian works. Nothing here is off-the-shelf. The rules and workflows are custom-made, and they overlap a lot.
- We need a PO who can look at a process, figure out what's actually necessary versus what's just an old habit, and decide what to keep and what to change. This job needs the carefulness of someone who's worked with real business systems - but also the creativity of someone who thinks like a product and design person, not just an engineer.
What You'll Do
- Understand how things really work. Not just what the documentation says - but what people actually do day to day. Find the gaps, the exceptions, the places where the system and real life don't match.
- Fix the real problem, not just the symptom. Before jumping to "how do we patch this," ask "what should this process look like." Suggest a better way of doing things when needed, instead of just working around old habits.
- Write specs that are easy to build from. Turn messy business requirements into clear instructions engineers can build correctly the first time - so there's less back-and-forth later.
- Work well with different teams. Ops, warehouse, suppliers, engineers - everyone wants something different. Stay fair and level-headed when people disagree.
- Know what matters most. There will always be more requests than time to do them. Learn to tell what's really urgent from what's just noise.
- Care about how things feel to use. These systems are still tools people use every day. Look for ways to make them simpler and more pleasant - not just working, but good.
Your skills and experience
- Calm when things are complicated: Experience operating or supporting complex systems in production - incident handling, root-cause troubleshooting, or working through multi-step operational issues under pressure.
- Thinks like both an engineer and a designer: 2–3+ years designing both UX flows and data logic/schemas. Comfortable simplifying complex systems into interfaces that non-technical users (warehouse staff, ops teams) can actually use.
- Has worked with custom business systems: Direct experience as a PO/BA on in-house or custom-built systems (ERP, CRM, ...) or supply chain/logistics operations. This is a strong plus.
- Takes initiative, but knows when to slow down: Understands safe release practices (staging, UAT, canary/rollout) and knows to check risk before touching anything live in production.
- Education & Background: Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
Why you'll love working here
- Real ownership over an important part of the company, from day one.
- The chance to help redesign systems that matter.
- A workplace that values results and independent thinking.
- 13th-month salary + performance bonus.
- 15 paid leave days + health insurance.
- Budget to keep learning and growing.
