Senior IT infrastructure & Security Specialist

Job description

Server, Virtualization & Cloud Management: 

- Administer enterprise servers (Windows, Linux), virtualization platforms (VMWare, Hyper-V), and cloud resources (AWS, Azure, CMC). 

- Monitor performance, apply patches/updates, and ensure high availability. 

- Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions to guarantee business continuity. 

- Support cloud migration projects and drive cost optimization initiatives

Network & Security Administration: 

- Design, configure, and manage LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and switching infrastructure. 

- Perform advanced troubleshooting and optimize network performance and uptime. 

- Deploy and enforce advanced security measures, including segmentation and intrusion prevention.

Identity & Access Management: 

- Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies. 

- Manage user accounts, access rights, and authentication services. 

- Ensure domain controller health, redundancy, and secure integration with enterprise systems.

IT Security & Compliance 

- Develop, implement, and enforce IT security policies and standards. 

- Conduct vulnerability assessments, patching, penetration testing, and regular security audits. 

- Ensure compliance with industry regulations (ISO, NIST, internal security frameworks).

IT Infrastructure Projects & Leadership 

- Plan, coordinate, and execute IT infrastructure projects, including migrations and upgrades. 

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure project success. 

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior IT staff. 

- Establish best practices, system documentation, and operational standards. 

Monitoring & Technical Support: 

- Use monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, PRTG, SolarWinds) to proactively detect and resolve infrastructure issues. 

- Analyze logs and alerts to ensure timely response to incidents. 

- Provide tier 2/3 escalation support to minimize downtime and maintain service availability.

Your skills and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in IT infratrusture, operations.

Work skills

• Proficient in Windows Server, Linux, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V). 
• Experience in IT systems (AD, DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, Office 365, Ivanti, Azure AD). 
• Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VLAN, VPN, routing, firewall). 
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, CMC) and hybrid integration. 
• Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python). 
• Familiarity with IT monitoring tools (Zabbix, PRTG, SolarWinds) and security tools (IDS/IPS, SIEM). 
• Knowledge of IT security frameworks and compliance standards (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
