Job Summary:
This role is responsible for defining and executing a comprehensive QA strategy that aligns with department goals. The Quality Manager will drive process improvements across the development lifecycle, lead a team in manual and automated testing, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality. Key responsibilities include promoting a shift-left testing mindset, monitoring test coverage, setting quality metrics, and mentoring QE team members. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, leadership experience, and familiarity with automation tools, along with excellent communication and strategic thinking skills.
Responsibilities:
- Define and Lead QA Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive QA strategy aligned with department goals, including test planning, risk management, and quality standards.
- Drive Process Improvement: Embed quality throughout the development lifecycle by initiating process improvements and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Lead QE Team Execution: Oversee the QE team in planning and executing manual, automated, and exploratory testing efforts.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams to ensure clear requirements and shared ownership of quality.
- Champion Shift-Left Mindset: Promote early testing and quality feedback throughout the development process.
- Oversee Test Coverage and Reporting: Monitor test coverage, identify gaps, and guide resolution of quality issues.
- Set Quality Metrics and KPIs: Define and track quality metrics to ensure continuous improvement in platform reliability and performance.
- Mentor and Grow Team: Coach, train, and develop QE team members to enhance their skills and performance.
Your skills and experience
- Certification: ISTQB Foundation certification or equivalent knowledge.
- Experience: At least 10 years of experience in software quality assurance, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of modern QA practices, Agile development, and SDLC.
- Team Building: Proven experience building or scaling QA teams and implementing effective testing processes.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strategic Thinking: Capacity to balance quality goals with time and resource constraints.
- Automation Familiarity: Knowledge of test automation concepts and tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Postman) to lead automation efforts.
