QA Lead (Automation Test, SQL)

Job description

Test Planning & Quality Assurance

• Participate in requirement reviews, technical design discussions, and sprint planning to identify quality risks early.
• Define test strategies, test plans, and test coverage for new features and releases.
• Review and approve test cases, test reports, and release readiness documentation.
• Ensure adequate coverage for functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and user acceptance testing.

Test Automation

• Design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks for web applications.
• Increase automated regression test coverage and reduce manual testing effort.
• Review automation code and establish automation best practices.

Release Quality

• Define release quality gates and deployment readiness criteria.
• Validate production releases and perform post-release verification.
• Track defect resolution and verify fixes before production deployment.
• Ensure software releases meet quality, security, and stability requirements.

QA Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the QA team, ensuring consistent testing practices and high engineering standards.
• Define and improve QA processes, testing standards, release criteria, and quality metrics.
• Allocate testing resources, review deliverables, and ensure testing activities are completed on schedule.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to establish quality objectives for each release.

Your skills and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
• At least 2 years of experience leading QA teams or managing QA processes.
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Proven experience defining QA strategies and establishing testing processes.
• Strong experience in functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, and API testing.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated testing frameworks using Playwright or equivalent tools.
• Strong experience with REST API testing using Postman or similar tools.
• Experience working with bug tracking and test management tools such as Jira.
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Basic English reading skills for technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing microservices and distributed systems.
• Experience with performance testing tools such as k6.
• Knowledge of security testing principles, including authentication, authorization, and OWASP Top 10.
• Experience establishing QA metrics, dashboards, and release quality reporting.
• ISTQB Foundation or Advanced Certification is a plus.
