ABOUT JOB:

You will effectively manage DigiWeb’s infrastructure and applications to ensure service stability, service risks are managed effectively, and ongoing service health maintained; ensure database software are patched and current

YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Responsible for the ongoing management and delivery governance of one or more end-to-end Database Services, incorporating Strategy, Design, Run, Provisioning & Deployment, Transition & Change, Consumption, Support, Delivery Performance & Quality, Capacity & Continuity, Issue & Risk Management.
• Support the service(s) and environments across the division.
• Identifies and addresses risks with the operation of the service
• Contributes to the identification of issues / incidents / events that impact agreed service KPIs, SLA’s, Service Health as well as any 3rd party Service Providers.
• Responsible for the successful resolution of critical, high, medium and low problems
• Provides technical support and direction across service management processes including, incident, problem, change, configuration, capacity, continuity (DR), availability, asset, monitoring and alerting
• Utilise appropriate forums and networks to identify opportunities to leverage asset portfolio capabilities
• Ensure adequate communication, knowledge sharing and issue resolution across delivery and support teams
• Ensure appropriate capacity, risk and security monitoring, disaster recovery and business continuity plans are in place across the portfolio, any issues are to be identified and remediated appropriately
• Another important part of the role is to perform On-Call support

• 2-4 years’ experience in Database Technology and delivery, with a strong background in the practical use, design and deployment of large-scale Database infrastructures
• 2-4 years’ experience with Oracle Database, any experience with PostgreSQL would be an advantage.
• Have worked and supported on a critical and highly available 24x7 production system.
• Strong development or system administration experience on UNIX/Linux systems. 
• Strong experience in Bash shell programming.
• Must have installed Oracle software using command line.
• Experience with design, implementing and managing enterprise Database and application dependencies and toolsets
• Experience with database optimisation and tuning.
• Experience on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation or Azure Resource Manager highly desirable.
• Strong awareness and understanding of hardware, networks, software technologies and applications.
• Relevant industry certifications
• Proven ability to multi task and prioritise assigned tasks.
• Tertiary qualification in a Technology discipline or related field
• Good communication in English.
