About the role

We're building the YUM! SuperApp — the platform that powers day-to-day operations across 29,500+ restaurants worldwide (KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, The Habit Burger & Grill). It's high-scale, mission-critical, and used by restaurant teams globally every single day. And it keeps growing fast.

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who lives and breathes React Native and knows when to drop into native code. You'll own real chunks of the mobile experience end to end — from architecture, to release, to the production issue at 4pm on a Friday. There's plenty of room to shape how the team works and help other engineers grow, but make no mistake: this is a hands-on building role first.

We work AI-native. We expect you to drive product outcomes with AI assistants and MCP-connected workflows — Claude, Claude Code, Figma Make, and the rest — not just to write code faster, but to prototype, design, and ship better. What you'll do

Build, ship, and own scalable React Native features across iOS and Android — with quality, performance, and reliability baked in from the start.
Design and drive scalable frontend architecture — set the patterns, structure, and conventions that let the app (and the team) grow without grinding to a halt.
Contribute to our ReactJS web app, keeping architecture and design patterns consistent across mobile and web.
Work closely with backend engineers, designers, and product managers to turn product ideas into things people actually use.
Own what you ship after release — proactively catch and fix production issues using Sentry, Crashlytics, Datadog, and similar tools.
Drive performance: faster startup, smoother lists, smaller bundles, fewer crashes — on real devices, including the older Androids.
Use AI to drive outcomes, not just to type faster — lean on Claude, Claude Code, Figma Make, and MCP servers to go from idea to working prototype to shipped feature. We want you pushing these tools hard and sharing what works back to the team.
Bring your point of view to technical planning, architecture discussions, and code reviews.
Be a go-to resource for less-experienced engineers — raise the team's bar through code reviews, pairing, and sharing what you know.

Your skills and experience

5+ years building frontend apps (React Native + ReactJS), with React Native as your core strength.
A track record of shipping and maintaining large-scale production apps.
Proven ability to create and drive scalable frontend architectures — you've designed structure and patterns that held up as apps and teams grew.
Strong TypeScript, plus a real understanding of React Native internals, performance tuning, and debugging.
Comfortable making state-management trade-offs (Redux / Zustand / React Query) and explaining why.
Hands-on with monitoring and observability tools (Sentry, Datadog, Crashlytics).
Familiar with native code (Java / Kotlin / Swift / Obj-C) and mobile build pipelines.
Genuinely good with AI dev tools (Claude, Claude Code, Figma Make, Copilot/Cursor, MCP) — you use them daily and you have a point of view on where they help and where they don't.
Experience mentoring and coaching other engineers — you're someone teammates come to, and you lift the people around you. (This is a core part of the role, not a bonus — but it's about being a technical resource, not managing people.)
Solid communication in English — you can collaborate across timezones and explain technical decisions clearly.

Own CI/CD and cloud infra end to end (AWS, Firebase, fastlane, EAS).
Go deep on authentication & security (OAuth, JWT, Cognito, Firebase Auth).
Work with monorepo tooling at scale (Nx, Turborepo).
Help shape and govern our design system.
Level up testing — from unit to E2E (Detox, Cypress, Maestro).
Grow toward Staff-level scope — owning larger technical initiatives end to end as you progress (the IC track here goes all the way up; management is a choice, not the only path).
