Job description

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative API Testing Engineer to join our Agile development team. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of backend APIs through automated and manual testing, while actively collaborating with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software. In this role, you will embrace AI-assisted testing by leveraging modern AI tools to accelerate test design, automation, debugging, and quality analysis, enabling faster and smarter software delivery.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional Agile teams, including Backend developers, Frontend developers, Product Owners, and Project Managers to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive Backend API test coverage.
• Analyze functional and technical requirements, identify defects early, and ensure sufficient test coverage.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for Backend APIs using tools such as Postman, Python, or similar technologies.
• Execute comprehensive testing for the email system, including API, IMAP, SMTP, JMAP, migration, synchronization, authentication, performance, reliability, and end-to-end workflows.
• Perform system and service benchmarking to evaluate performance, scalability, stability, and resource utilization under different workloads.
• Conduct performance, load, and stress testing to identify bottlenecks and validate system behavior under expected and peak traffic conditions.
• Support Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) by integrating automated API tests into Jenkins pipelines.
• Monitor API performance, test execution results, and system reliability through analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Allure Reports).
• Support Frontend developers during API integration by troubleshooting issues, validating API behavior, and verifying new features and enhancements.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, API reviews, internal demos, and cross-functional team demos.

Your skills and experience

• At least 4 years in automation testing and ensuring product quality.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end automation testing processes 
• Experience using AI tools (Claude, Cursor, Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.) to improve testing productivity. 
• Hands-on experience with a programming language such as Python
• Experience in API automation testing (Python, Java, JMeter, Postman, etc.)
• Experience in CI/CD process (Github, Jenkins, Gitlab CI, nightly run, etc.)
• Experience in Performance and Security testing is a plus.
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Have a proactive and good work relationship with other team members.
