Regional Data Engineer Lead

Job description

This is a full-time, on-site Regional Data Engineer Lead role based in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. The Regional Data Engineer Lead will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support analytics, reporting, and operational decision-making across multiple markets.

The role will oversee regional data architecture and modeling, ensuring data quality, consistency, security, and governance across various source systems and platforms.

This position will collaborate closely with data analysts, data scientists, product teams, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust data solutions and to optimize performance of data warehouses and data platforms. The Regional Data Engineer Lead will mentor and guide a regional team of data engineers, define best practices and standards, and drive continuous improvement in data engineering tools, workflows, and documentation. The role will also evaluate and implement new data technologies, support cloud migration initiatives, and troubleshoot complex data issues in a fast-paced fintech environment. 

Duties

• Prepare data architecture for Collection data mart and features store.
• Lead and maintain Collection data mart for analysis.
• Lead and maintain Collection feature stores for scorecard development.
• Ensure data reconciliation process and data quality.
• Prepare ETL to construct Collection data mart and features store.
• Prepare ETL for data integration between DWH, DM and CRM system.
• Build ERD, data pipelines and ETL processes via SSIS.
• Ensure data accuracy and reliability as well as job performance, identify bottleneck and provide appropriate hotfixes to make sure no effect on daily operation.
• Ensure system and data integration with external services (Dialer adapter, Hadoop, and other Operational system) for daily operation (e.g., real-time dashboard, reporting and real time scoring).
• Maintain sets of group reporting/ group presentation for BOD and external clients.

Your skills and experience

• University degree in MIS, BIS, IT, CS, Economy, Finance or relevant
• Good knowledge of ETL and Data analysis tools: SQL/ SSIS/ Python/ Spark/ R
• Power BI:
  • Power Query for data cleaning and transformation
  • DAX for calculations and measures
  • Data modelling
  • Reports and dashboards 
• Intermediate or advanced knowledge of MS Excel
• Minimum 3 years of solid experience as Data Engineer Lead
• Experience in Hadoop, Spark, distributed systems are preferred
• Experience in the Consumer Finance industry or similar position (dealing with Collection, product development, marketing, project management, ...) is preferred
• Good knowledge of verbal and written English language

• Proven experience in SQL scripting and data warehouse structure will be an advantage
• Experience with data workflow managers such as Airflow, Drake, or Luigi
