Threat Intelligence Business Unit of the Outpost24 Group is an award-winning cyberthreat intelligence provider with offices in Barcelona and Hanoi. Our business brings together a multidisciplinary, international team in a fast-paced working environment.

 

We are looking for a talented and passionate applicant to help us manage the team. For this role, you’ll need ample experience managing people and leading the way on a technological plane. We expect you to have a proactive spirit and the ability to think outside the box and always keep the customer front and center.

 

Our Engineering Manager must be highly qualified in developing scalable, production-ready services, and take ownership of keeping the services running after delivery; you build it – you run it! Reporting to the department CTO, you’ll be familiar with implementing cleanly coded applications in Python, Golang and/or Java. You thrive on helping the team succeed and lend a hand or fill in the gaps wherever needed. You’re involved in project planning and reporting and line management for the team TI members in the Hanoi office.

 

As an Engineering Manager your main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead a team of 7-10 engineers, and be responsible for their happiness and growth
  • Be accountable for all things in your team including delivery of projects, quality of the implemented solutions, hiring and the performance of your team
  • Work tightly with the team’s product manager to prioritize appropriately and ensure engineering needs are also being worked on
  • Be the contact point for your team and ensure you shield your team from distractions while keeping them informed of the priorities
  • Lead by example and motivate your team

Your skills and experience

Requirements:

  • A degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or relevant experience
  • Experience leading and managing agile cross functional teams, and coaching + mentoring engineers
  • Understanding of the architecture and processes required to build and operate complex and scalable systems in a hybrid cloud environment
  • Thorough understanding of modern DevOps practices
  • At least 5 years of experience in a senior software engineering or DevOps role
  • Being data driven, self-motivated and able to understand the importance of owning the work you do and its quality
  • Being capable of helping the team in technical discussions where it makes sense, and leading some of those discussions
  • You are highly skilled in a modern high level in at least one of Python, Go or Java
  • Fluent in English
  • Successful applicants must be willing to adapt their work schedule to +/- 3 CET and willing to occasionally travel for face-to-face meetings
