Job description

Designer Journeys is seeking a highly motivated and talented Senior Test/QA Engineer to join our fast-growing travel tech start-up. You will have the opportunity to work with a driven and competent team towards our grand vision of disrupting the travel product supply chain by consistently and rapidly taking small steps at a time.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with product managers and development teams to thoroughly understand project requirements and translate them into comprehensive test plans and strategies.
• Provide input on the clarity, testability, and potential risks associated with the requirements to ensure complete coverage.
• Design and develop detailed, well-structured test cases based on product requirements, ensuring full coverage of both functional and non-functional aspects of the system.
• Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for all test cases, test data, and testing scenarios to facilitate reusability and consistency in testing efforts.
• Perform extensive manual testing, including functional, regression, usability, and exploratory testing, to ensure a seamless user experience across both web and mobile applications.
• Execute tests across multiple devices, operating systems, and browsers, ensuring consistency in application performance and functionality across platforms.
• Ensure thorough testing coverage across various platforms, including web browsers and mobile operating systems (iOS and Android), to guarantee consistent functionality and performance for all users.
• Log, track, and verify defects in the bug-tracking system, ensuring detailed bug reports with clear reproduction steps and screenshots where necessary.
• Collaborate with developers to resolve bugs and ensure that fixes are effectively tested and verified before release.
• Track and document all testing activities, providing regular reports on test progress, test execution results, risks, and key issues identified during testing.
• Clearly communicate test results and identified defects to stakeholders, developers, and project teams, ensuring transparency on project quality.
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, providing updates on testing progress and offering feedback on the quality of the product and overall testing efforts.
• Propose and implement improvements to streamline manual testing efforts and ensure high-quality releases within project deadlines.
• Contribute to the initial development and maintenance of basic automated test scripts, focusing on automating repetitive or time-consuming test cases to enhance overall test efficiency.

Your skills and experience

• 3+ years of experience in web and mobile application testing.
• Experience in mentoring junior to middle-level testers.
• Strong product mindset.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities are the pluses.
• Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.
• Knowledge of security testing practices and tools is a plus.
• Some exposure to automation testing is a plus.
