Sr Data Consultant (Python, Scala, JavaScript, Shell)

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Data Consultant with 7+ years of experience spanning data engineering, machine learning, and cloud computing to design, build, and scale data platforms for our global clients. The ideal candidate has a strong track record of architecting ETL pipelines, deploying predictive models, and leading cross-functional delivery in pharmaceutical, fintech, SaaS, and enterprise domains. This role combines hands-on data engineering, ML application, and team leadership within an agile delivery model.

Key Responsibilities

•     Architect, engineer, and optimize scalable ETL pipelines across structured and unstructured data sources.

•     Design and deliver big data processing workflows using PySpark, Scala, and AWS EMR for large-scale analytics.

•     Build and maintain data integration workflows using Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, and equivalent orchestration tools.

•     Develop and deploy predictive models and machine learning solutions using Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.

•     Design and validate reinforcement learning pipelines for sequential decision-making and AI-driven systems.

•     Build and operate data warehouse and analytical store solutions on AWS Redshift, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and S3.

•     Develop backend services and RESTful APIs using Python frameworks (Flask, Django, FastAPI) and Node.js.

•     Implement DevOps best practices using Docker, Jenkins, SonarQube, Celery, RabbitMQ, and CI/CD pipelines.

•     Lead code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and facilitate Proof of Concept (POC) sessions with clients.

•     Coordinate directly with clients and stakeholders to translate complex requirements into data-driven, production-ready systems.

Your skills and experience

•     7+ years of professional experience in data engineering, with hands-on exposure to machine learning and cloud platforms.

•     Expert-level proficiency in Python; working knowledge of JavaScript, Shell, Scala, and TypeScript.

•     Strong experience with PySpark and Scala for distributed data processing on AWS EMR or equivalent platforms.

•     Hands-on expertise with AWS services: EMR, Lambda, S3, Redshift, EC2.

•     Experience with Azure Data Factory and additional exposure to GCP services.

•     Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis.

•     Solid background in machine learning and data science libraries: Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch.

•     Experience deploying production applications using Gunicorn, Apache, or NGINX.

•     Strong working knowledge of DevOps tooling: Docker, Jenkins, SonarQube, Celery, RabbitMQ, CI/CD.

•     Excellent communication, mentorship, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

•     Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or fintech data platforms.

•     Hands-on experience with computer vision frameworks such as YOLOv5 and CNN-based models.

•     Exposure to NLP, recommendation systems, or reinforcement learning in production.

•     Experience with web automation, scraping, and bot frameworks (Selenium, Beautiful Soup) for data acquisition.

•     Familiarity with payment integrations (Stripe, PayPal), authentication (OKTA, Google SSO), and third-party API ecosystems.

•     Track record of leading distributed agile (Scrum) teams across multiple concurrent projects.

Education

•     Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (required).

•     Advanced degree or relevant cloud/data certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) considered a plus.
