Job description
For Lead QA Tester (Manage Junior members):
- Work closely with the QA Manager (QAM) to arrange resources for better work needs based on priorities and importance.
- Maintain the team’s calendar.
- Supervise and support team members in terms of working knowledge and facilities, or any violations, mistakes.
- Fully understand the documents, requirements, and specs.
- Estimate an accurate test plan based on the requirements, time, and available resource.
- Ensure the testing environment is fully ready and testing materials are well prepared before assigning to QA Tester (QAT).
- Work closely with QA Engineers to arrange rational resource based on workload and priorities.
- Follow up on QAT execution progress and status to ensure the test results’ quality.
- Work closely with other Engineers to quickly toggle the issue occurring during the test.
- Cooperate with the Lead QA Engineer/QAM to give timely feedback for any issue that affects testing progress/result.
- Prioritize, scope, and escalate issues appropriately and establish the best method of resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicating risks, defects, and coverage status.
- Responsible for QAT’s quality in order to deliver a flawless/ bug-free product.
For Lead QA Engineer (Manage Lead QA Tester and Middle, Senior QA Engineers)
- Work closely with QA Manager (QAM) to arrange resources for better work needs.
- Maintain the team’s calendar.
- Supervise and support team members in terms of working knowledge and facilities, or any violations, mistakes.
- Review testing materials prepared by QA Engineer (QAE) and provide timely feedback if needed.
- Work closely with QAE to estimate an accurate test plan based on the requirements, time, and available resource.
- Follow up on QAE testing progress and status to ensure the test results’ quality.
- Work closely with other Engineers and Producers to quickly handle the issue occurring during the test.
- Cooperate with Lead QAE/QAM to give timely feedback for any issue that affects testing progress/result.
- Join early meetings with Product team for high-level estimation and risks prevision.
- Monitor the product after release to ensure it works as expected.
- Prioritize, scope, and escalate bugs appropriately and establish the best method of resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicating risks, defects, and coverage status.
Your skills and experience
For Lead QA Tester:
- 3+ years of QA experience, 1+ years in software or web products testing.
- 2+ years of management experience with a team of 4+ members.
- Expertise in executing white box, grey box, black box, regression, smoke, integration testing.
- Must have worked on QA for a software product during initial development and operations with ongoing development and release cycles.
- Strong logical and analytical skills; background in sciences, engineering, software engineering a plus.
- Passionately detail-orientated and methodical; ability to prioritize efficiently. Fanatical about quality.
- Gets stuff done quickly and independently; agile and flexible; able to adopt to a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Understand mobile software engineering and creative pipeline.
- Strong skills and experience in working with web-based tooling and configurations.
- Ability to perform API testing using Postman and inspect/update APIs using tools like Charles Proxy.
- Familiar with JSON and log debugging. Knowledge of Python and MS SQL is nice to have.
- Well-versed and knowledgeable in at least one bug reporting system such as JIRA, Bugzilla, Etc.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and teams at the same time and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate clearly with all teams in the company, including art, engineering, QA, and marketing/UA; able to make clear issue tracking documentation.
- Good command of English - written and spoken.
- Proactive problem solver; do not wait for problems to come up but identifies potential constraints and takes steps to de-risk early on.
