Job description

We are looking for a passionate Senior Laravel Developer with at least 5 years of experience to join our dynamic engineering team. We have adopted vibe coding as our core development process — AI coding agents now handle most of the hands-on implementation. Your role is to plan and architect: translating business requirements into clear technical specs, designing scalable system architecture, directing AI coding agents, and rigorously reviewing their output, while working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality digital products.

Key Responsibilities

· Analyze business requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications and task breakdowns that AI coding agents can execute.

· Architect scalable, secure system designs and define coding standards and guardrails for AI-assisted (vibe coding) development.

· Direct and prompt AI coding agents to implement features, then rigorously review and validate the generated code for correctness, security, and performance.

· Plan and manage development tasks, sprints, and delivery timelines across the team.

· Optimize database design and backend architecture for performance and scalability.

· Identify and resolve complex performance, scalability, and integration issues that go beyond what AI agents can solve independently.

· Establish and enforce engineering best practices (testing, source control, CI/CD, design patterns) within an AI-assisted development workflow.

· Continuously evaluate new AI tools, agentic frameworks, and engineering practices to improve team productivity.

Your skills and experience

Must have

· At least 5 years of experience with PHP & Laravel Framework, with a strong foundation in system design and software architecture

· Strong understanding of MySQL, OOP, Design Patterns, and SOLID principles — solid enough to architect solutions and critically review code you didn’t write yourself. 

· Hands-on experience directing AI coding agents (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) in a vibe coding workflow — writing clear specs/prompts, orchestrating multi-step tasks, and validating AI-generated output. 

· Experience integrating AI using OpenAI APIs, LangChain, or vector databases.

· Strong planning and project management skills — able to break down ambiguous requirements into clear, actionable tasks and manage delivery timelines.

· Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Vue.js, Git, Docker, or CI/CD pipelines, and hands-on familiarity with AI coding agents/IDEs is a plus. 

· Strong critical-thinking and architect mindset — comfortable making trade-off decisions, devising effective solutions, and catching issues AI agents miss.

· Good English communication skills (both written and spoken)

Nice to have

· Experience leading or mentoring a small engineering team.

· Familiarity with Agile/Scrum or other project management methodologies.

· Experience managing large-scale web services (B2B or B2C).

· Familiarity with big-data tools or chatbot technologies.

· Ability to view services from both business and engineering perspectives.

· Maintain a proactive mindset, focusing on what can be done rather than why it can’t be done.

Academic / Business

· Bachelor’s or associate degree in Computer Science or a related field.

· Ability to communicate in English (office communications are in English as CEO is from Japan)
