Job description

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) specialist with a strong blend of functional accounting knowledge and technical capabilities to support our IT team.

This role will play a critical part in enhancing, configuring, and optimizing modules within D365 Finance, while partnering closely with local and global accounting teams to ensure the system is fully functional and effectively utilized.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in D365 system configuration, accounting process workflows, and D365 financial reports, and can bridge IT and Accounting to drive adoption, resolve issues, and improve financial reporting across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Serve as a support to Corporate Finance team for resolving D365 application issues for end users across global teams in collaboration with the local IT team
  • Configure, activate, and optimize D365 modules and workspaces including: Accounts Payable & Receivable, Fixed Assets, Account Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliation, Financial Reporting and Consolidations, Intercompany Eliminations, Project Accounting, Budgeting and Forecasting, Financial Period Close, Financial Analysis, Business Performance Analytics, etc.
  • Identify and implement underutilized D365 functionality to improve efficiency and controls; document processes, drive standardization while accommodating necessary regional differences, and provide training to finance teams
  • Partner closely with local and global accounting teams across regions and business units to understand local and corporate requirements, map business processes into D365 functionality, and configure modules to meet operational needs; Translate accounting requirements into system configurations and workflows
  • Resolve D365 related issues raised by the accounting teams independently without frequent follow-ups and by established deadlines
  • Design, develop, and maintain financial reports using D365 Financial Reporting (Management Reporter / MR) and other tools available in or compatible with D365
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, and Operations to identify opportunities for streamlining processes
  • Lead or support D365 implementations, upgrades, and module rollouts as required by the IT team
  • Document system processes, configuration, controls, and conversions in collaboration with Finance and IT teams ensuring audit readiness
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls (ITGC) within D365 in collaboration with the Internal Controls department
  • Communicate technical solutions effectively to non-technical stakeholders
  • Train and support end users on D365 functionality
  • Provide status updates to Senior Leadership

Your skills and experience

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, IT Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations
  • Strong hands-on experience with D365 configuration and module activatio including Project Accounting and financial reporting development
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and standards (IFRS)
  • Experience working in both Accounting/Finance and IT/system environments
  • Proven track record of improving financial systems and processes in a global organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency global environments
  • Experience with D365 implementations or major upgrades
  • Knowledge of FloQast and Jet Reporting tools is a plus
  • Proficiency with Power BI, Power Platform, and data integrations
  • Experience in a SOX-controlled environment is a plus
  • Knowledge of SQL, data models, or system integrations
