Senior DevOps Engineer

Position Summary

Laidon is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to support and operate secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure for our SAP BTP and enterprise SaaS platforms, including SimpleMDG solutions.

The role focuses on CI/CD automation, cloud operations, SAP BTP platform support, monitoring, deployment management, and production reliability across customer environments.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Linux systems, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, scripting, and enterprise deployment operations.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud & Infrastructure Operations

• Maintain and support cloud infrastructure across AWS and SAP BTP environments
• Support application deployment and operational activities
• Configure and maintain networking, VPN, firewall, SSL certificates, and secure connectivity
• Support production systems with reliability and operational best practices

SAP BTP Platform Operations

• Manage SAP BTP subaccounts, entitlements, destinations, Cloud Connector, and connectivity configurations
• Support SAP BTP application deployments and customer onboarding activities
• Configure and support authentication and SSO integrations with IAS, Entra ID (Azure AD), Okta, and SAML/OIDC providers
• Assist with enterprise identity and authorization integrations

CI/CD & Automation

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab
• Automate deployments, rollback, validation, and operational tasks
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
• Maintain deployment scripts, YAML configurations, and automation tooling
• Improve release reliability and deployment standardization

Monitoring & Support

• Monitor application health, logs, jobs, and infrastructure status
• Troubleshoot production issues and support root cause analysis
• Maintain deployment runbooks, operational documentation, and support procedures
• Support customer production go-live activities and deployment windows

Security & Compliance

• Apply secure engineering and DevSecOps practices
• Support operational compliance requirements and audit activities
• Manage access control, certificates, secrets, and temporary privileged access
• Follow deployment governance and operational procedures

Collaboration

• Work closely with Development, QA, Product, and Customer teams
• Support customer onboarding and environment setup activities
• Provide technical guidance to team members
• Contribute to operational improvements and platform standardization

Your skills and experience

Experience

• 5+ years in DevOps, System Engineering, or Infrastructure roles
• Experience supporting production enterprise systems
• Experience handling deployment operations and troubleshooting
• Experience working in customer-facing technical environments is preferred
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools:
  • Grafana
  • Prometheus

Technical Skills

• Strong Linux administration skills
• Strong CI/CD experience with Jenkins and GitLab
• Experience with cloud platforms:
  • AWS
  • Azure (basic knowledge preferred)
• Experience with:
  • Docker, Kubernetes
  • Bash/Python/PowerShell scripting
  • Terraform, Ansible
  • YAML
  • Git workflows
  • GitLab API
• Knowledge of networking concepts:
  • VPN
  • DNS
  • Firewall
  • SSL/TLS
  • Proxy
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting production systems
