Role summary
The Mobile Gamification UI/UX Designer (Fintech) leads the design of high retention mobile experiences for Vietpay. You will translate product goals into engaging user journeys using point systems, missions, rewards, and clear progress feedback, supported by strong narrative and microcopy. This is a hands on role that requires expert Figma execution, strong mobile interaction design, and close collaboration with engineering to ship production quality experiences.
Key responsibilities
1) Gamification and engagement design
• Own the gamification framework across onboarding, activation, and daily usage loops, aligned with measurable business outcomes.
• Design and document mechanics such as points, XP, levels, missions, streaks, badges, challenges, unlocks, and reward redemption flows.
• Create progression and feedback systems that motivate users to complete financial tasks, without confusing users or reducing trust.
• Define anti abuse rules and edge cases for point earning and reward logic, in partnership with product, risk, and engineering teams.
• Ensure gamification is ethical and transparent, avoiding dark patterns and protecting the integrity of a financial product.
2) Story and narrative design
• Develop a simple narrative layer that makes complex fintech tasks feel clear, motivating, and approachable.
• Design mission structures and achievement messaging that guide users to the next best action.
• Partner with product and marketing on tone, microcopy direction, and achievement stories that match the Vietpay brand.
3) Mobile UI and UX ownership
• Lead end to end UX from user flows and wireframes to high fidelity UI, interaction states, and clickable prototypes.
• Design mobile first experiences for Android and iOS, including onboarding, dashboard, tasks, rewards, and account and security related screens.
• Create and maintain a scalable component library and design system in Figma, including gamification components and states.
• Produce developer ready specs, including layout rules, responsive behavior, empty states, error states, and accessibility considerations.
4) Cross functional delivery with engineering
• Work closely with engineers, QA, and product managers to plan, scope, and deliver features on schedule.
• Provide detailed handoff materials, including annotations, interaction rules, and acceptance criteria for UI behavior.
• Review builds, provide structured feedback, and ensure the shipped UI matches intended design and quality.
5) Web and website design support
• Support related web experiences when needed, including landing pages, product marketing flows, and partner portals.
• Ensure consistent brand expression and design language across mobile and web.
6) Testing, iteration, and metrics driven improvement
• Collaborate on usability testing and rapid iteration cycles to validate designs before and after release.
• Partner with product and analytics to monitor activation, retention, feature adoption, and reward engagement, then iterate based on data.
• Maintain documentation of design decisions, edge cases, and learnings to scale the system over time.
Your skills and experience
Job Requirements:
• Must speak fluent English
• Must have an impressive portfolio with references
• 5+ years of UI and UX design experience, with a strong portfolio of shipped mobile apps.
• Proven experience designing gamification systems such as point based rewards, progression, missions, streaks, and redemption journeys.
• Expert in Figma, including components, variants, auto layout, libraries, and prototyping.
• Strong collaboration experience with software engineering teams, including agile delivery and clear design handoff.
• Excellent English communication skills, spoken and written. Vietnamese is strongly preferred.
• Strong mobile interaction design skills for Android and iOS, including edge cases, error states, and accessibility.
• Portfolio link required, showing at least two mobile projects and at least one gamification focused system.
Preferred qualifications
• Experience applying behavioral design principles responsibly, including motivation and feedback systems.
• Experience with motion design and micro interactions for mobile UI.
• Familiarity with product analytics and experimentation workflows, including A and B testing.
• Experience contributing to or owning a design system across mobile and web.
• (optional) Experience in fintech, banking, insurance, payments, or other enterprise products.
