Job description

1. RF Hardware Design & Development
• Design and develop RF-based automotive electronics including:
 Key fobs
 NFC modules
 Smart access control units
 Multi-functional body control units
• Support system architecture definition and translate system requirements into HW design.
• Work with technologies such as CAN, BLE, UWB, LF/RF communication in car access systems.
• Perform circuit design, simulation, and schematic/layout reviews using tools (e.g. PSpice, CST, Empire).

2. HW Validation & Testing (Focus for Vietnam Team)
• Build up prototypes and samples; perform hardware bring-up.
• Conduct:
o RF validation & debugging
o Embedded SW validation (interface with HW)
o Electrical and functional testing
• Develop and operate test setups, including:
o RF measurement equipment
o Automated/robotic test systems
o CAN-based interconnected control units
• Perform measurement, debugging, and root cause analysis on failures.

3. Field Application & Customer Support
• Execute vehicle-level testing and validation at customer sites.
• Analyse field data and provide technical feedback to development teams.
• Support front-end customer activities, including:
o Demo setups
o Application validation
o Technical presentations
• Act as HW interface to customers for issue resolution and technical clarification.

4. Industrialization & Project Contribution
• Support the full product lifecycle:
o Concept & architecture
o Development & validation
o Industrialization & SOP
• Collaborate with global teams (Germany, other regions) to ensure product readiness for mass production.
• Contribute to acquisition activities as RF/HW specialist.

5. Cross-functional Collaboration
• Work closely with:
o Hardware (HW) teams
o System engineering (SYS)
o Software development (SW / Embedded)
• Operate in an international, intercultural environment with strong teamwork culture.

Your skills and experience

Education & Experience
• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in:
o Electrical Engineering
o Electronics / Telecommunications
o Information Technology
• Experience in automotive hardware development or RF systems is highly preferred.

Technical Skills
• Strong knowledge of:
RF design and measurement techniques
Automotive communication technologies (CAN, BLE, UWB, LF)
Radar / RF systems (advantage)
• Hands-on experience with:
RF lab equipment (spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, etc.)
Test system development and automation
• Familiarity with:
Simulation tools (PSpice, CST, Empire, etc.)
Embedded systems and HW-SW interaction
• Proficient in MS Office tools

Soft Skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
• Ability to work independently and within global teams
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Customer-oriented thinking

Language & Mobility
• Fluent in English (mandatory)
• Japanese is a plus
• Willingness to travel:
o Customer sites
o Global HELLA locations
o Supplier visits
