Job description
- Play a key role in leading and consulting the development team on architecture and technology choices for projects.
- Lead, mentor, and coach developers on best practices, including coding standards, design patterns, unit testing, and deployment processes.
- Perform hands-on coding and conduct code reviews for junior and mid-level developers.
- Understand customer requirements and business context to deliver effective application solutions.
- Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in web development.
- Willing to take business trips or work overseas as required.
- Carry out other assignments as directed by the Manager.
Your skills and experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in software development, with at least 6 years of strong focus on Frontend development.
- At least 3 years in a leadership role such as Frontend Technical Leader or Principal Engineer.
- Proven experience in building systems from scratch.
Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in modern Frontend technologies: ReactJS, Angular, NextJS, TypeScript, etc.
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
- Skilled in reviewing source code and mentoring/managing development teams.
- Experience in creating design and test specifications.
Methodologies & Processes:
- Familiarity with software development life cycles including Waterfall and Agile/Scrum.
- Understanding of Japanese outsourcing/offshore development processes.
Communication:
- Proficient in English communication.
- Basic Japanese is preferable (JLPT N4 level or equivalent).
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities and willingness to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Adaptability to changing requirements and instructions.
