Job description
We're looking for a DevOps Engineer to manage our AWS cloud infrastructure, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, and keep our systems reliable and secure. You'll work closely with our Dev team, coordinate with our Network Admin on network/security matters.
Job Description
- Deploy, configure, and maintain AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, EBS, VPC, IAM, CloudFront, CloudWatch)
- Monitor system performance and optimize for cost, performance, and scalability
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Write automation scripts to reduce manual operational work
- Manage containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Set up and maintain monitoring/alerting for servers and applications
- Troubleshoot production issues in collaboration with the Dev team
- Work with the Network Admin on basic network/security configurations related to the cloud environment
- (If you have coding ability) support the Dev team with simple coding tasks once the system stabilizes
- Maintain documentation for system design and troubleshooting
- Work with the other teams to create workflow, policy, pipeline to enhance productivity
- Communicate and report directly to leaders in Vietnam and Canada (chat, e-mail, document)
Your skills and experience
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role
- Strong experience with core AWS services (EC2, S3, EBS, VPC, IAM, CloudFront, CloudWatch)
- Strong Linux and Windows server administration; comfortable with scripting (Bash, Python, etc.)
- Proficient with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, etc.)
- Working understanding of networking fundamentals (VPC, subnets, firewalls, load balancers, DNS)
- Good at English
Nice to have (not required now, but a strong plus we're expanding into on-prem/hybrid infrastructure over time)
- Able to code at a moderate level, C#/C++ preferred (not expert-level; a strong plus in screening)
- Virtualization experience: VMware vSphere/ESXi, Proxmox, or KVM
- Production Kubernetes on bare metal or VMs (kubeadm, RKE2, k3s, OpenShift or similar)
- On-premise networking: VLANs, routing, firewalls (iptables/nftables, pfSense/FortiGate), HAProxy/Keepalived, VPN
- Backup, HA, and disaster recovery experience (Velero, Restic, or equivalent)
- Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, OKRs
