DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Job description

We are seeking a skilled DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join Yokogawa’s Renewable Energy team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS), driving CI/CD automation, ensuring operational reliability, and maintaining high availability for our Asset Performance Management (APM) platform.

While the core focus is on Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps automation, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams on system operations and data analytics.

Key Responsibilities

• Software Troubleshooting & Technical Support:
  • Support the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and patching of the APM platform across customer environments.
  • Systematically analyze application logs, system metrics, and configuration data to identify root causes of software, connectivity, or integration issues.
  • Coordinate closely with the product team in Italy to resolve deep product-level bugs or fixes.
• Cloud / IT Operations & Integration:
  • Administer and monitor cloud-based environments on Microsoft Azure and/or AWS (VMs, Storage, Networking, IAM, and System Health Monitoring).
  • Troubleshoot common infrastructure and network connectivity issues (DNS, VPN, Firewalls, SSL/TLS, TCP/IP).
  • Use Python and SQL for data validation, operational troubleshooting, and task automation.
• Customer & Project Delivery Support:
  • Collaborate with regional technical leads and project managers during go-live, implementation, and support phases.
  • Communicate technical issues clearly to both technical teams and customer stakeholders.
• Domain & Data Skill Development (Gradual Growth):
  • Over time, build domain expertise in renewable energy assets (Solar, Wind, Battery Storage) and further expand your SQL, Python, and data analytics capabilities.

Your skills and experience

1. Must-Have Requirements

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline with 2–5 years of experience in software/application support, cloud operations, system integration, or DevOps.
• Core Troubleshooting: Strong analytical mindset with a structured, hands-on approach to reading logs and diagnosing software and application issues.
• DevOps & Cloud Capabilities:
  • Hands-on experience with Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD Pipelines, and Octopus Deploy.
  • Practical experience operating within Microsoft Azure and/or AWS environments across both Windows Server & Linux.
  • Foundation in managing Virtual Machines, Storage, Networking, IAM, and Monitoring tools.
• Technical Skills:
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, SSL/TLS).
  • Solid SQL skills for querying and validating data integrity.
  • Working knowledge of Python for operational scripting and automation.
• Language: Good written and spoken English communication skills for collaborating with global teams and customers.

2. Nice-to-Have Skills (Training Provided)

• Experience with Docker & Kubernetes (highly preferred).
• Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server), APIs, or industrial protocols (MQTT, WebSocket, SCADA).
• Exposure to renewable energy, industrial automation, or APM platforms.
