Job description

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator cum Data Modeling Specialist to manage our database systems and develop comprehensive data models. The ideal candidate will have expertise in both database administration and data modeling, ensuring the efficient operation and optimization of our databases while designing and implementing data models that align with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, configure, and maintain relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Monitor database performance and tune SQL queries to ensure optimal performance.
• Implement and maintain database security policies, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
• Perform regular database backups and disaster recovery operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues and outages.
• Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, and patching.
• Design and develop logical and physical data models that meet business requirements and support data integrity.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and analyze data requirements.
• Create and maintain documentation for data models, data flows, and database structures.
• Utilize data modeling tools to create data models and schemas.
• Ensure data models adhere to best practices and industry standards.

Your skills and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Database Administrator and Data Modeling Specialist.
• Strong knowledge of RDBMS systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Proficiency in data modeling techniques and tools.
• Experience with SQL and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
