Data Operations Engineer (Python, SQL, Cloud)

Job Overview

We are looking for a Data Operations Engineer to join Yokogawa’s Renewable Energy team. This role combines data processing, system troubleshooting (L2 support), and basic cloud infrastructure operations to ensure high availability and continuous performance of our Asset Performance Management (APM) platform.

Job Responsibilities

• L2 System & Operations Support: Monitor system health, investigate application/database issues, analyze system logs, and perform root-cause analysis for incident resolution. 
•  Data Operations & Processing: Develop and maintain data pipelines using Python and SQL. Optimize SQL queries for data extraction, quality validation, and performance reporting. 
• Cloud & Infrastructure Operations: Support deployment, access control, and monitoring across Linux/Windows environments and Cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
• Operational Monitoring: Build and maintain operational dashboards/visualizations (Power BI, Grafana, Tableau) to track system performance and data integrity.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with software developers, DevOps engineers, and technical support teams to validate fixes and support new release deployments.

Your skills and experience

• Programming: Strong Python programming skills (hands-on experience with Pandas/NumPy for data manipulation).
• Database & SQL: Solid SQL skills with hands-on experience in writing and optimizing database queries (PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, or MySQL).
• OS & Cloud Fundamentals: Practical experience working with Linux/Windows server environments and basic Cloud infrastructure (Azure or AWS).
• Troubleshooting & Log Analysis: Strong analytical mindset with experience reading application/system logs, debugging integration issues, and understanding basic network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, WebSockets, REST APIs).
• Language: Professional English proficiency (written and spoken) for daily collaboration in a global environment.
• Experience: Minimum 3+ years in Data Operations, Data Engineering, System Operations, or L2 Technical Support.

Preferred / Referable Qualifications (Domain & Advanced Tools)

(Note: Prior domain knowledge is a plus, but candidates with strong core technical skills will be trained on the job)

• Experience with SCADA systems, Renewable Energy platforms, or Industrial IoT platforms.
• Knowledge of industrial/IoT communication protocols (OPC UA, Modbus TCP, MQTT, IEC 6
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD tools (Git, Azure DevOps).
• Experience with search/NoSQL databases like ElasticSearch.
