Job description
Purpose of the position
The Operational Excellence Specialist will ensure operational efficiency, standardization, and data-driven decision-making for the 4PL Control Tower. This role combines data analytics, reporting optimization, system enhancements, and process improvement to enhance business performance. The specialist will harmonize reporting, automate workflows, support system testing, and provide training while collaborating with IT, business stakeholders, and operational teams
Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Reporting & Data Analytics
- Manage Ocean operational (KPI Dashboard), financial, and management reporting, ensuring 100% data accuracy and standardization.
- Evaluate existing business analytics & data integrations, identify gaps and propose improvements.
- Develop and maintain KPIs, dashboards, and automated reports to support decision-making.
- Draft and review reporting change proposals for new or modified reports.
- Coordinate with the Regional Team to implement data solutions aligned with business needs.
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and quality reviews for reporting enhancements.
2. Process Improvement & System Optimization
- Drive harmonization, standardization, and automation of Ocean reporting and workflows.
- Analyze service failures, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Establish and execute an operational continuous improvement program.
- Document SOPs, workflows, and best practices for consistency.
- Facilitate adoption of new processes/systems through structured training programs.
- Test new/changed modules in core operational tools to ensure functionality and compliance.
3. Stakeholder Engagement & Support
- Engage with business stakeholders to define reporting and process optimization requirements.
- Provide onsite/remote support to operational teams on system and process-related issues.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to align system enhancements with operational needs
Your skills and experience
- Minimum 2+years of experience in data analysis, business process improvement, or a similar role.
- Strong data analytics & reporting skills (Power BI, SQL, Excel, TMS).
- Experience with Business Objects or Crystal Reporting (preferred).
- Proven track record in process improvement, workflow documentation, and project execution.
- Ability to translate data insights into actionable business recommendations.
- Skilled at cross-functional collaboration, with the ability to communicate complex insights clearly.
- Experience delivering presentations and training to diverse audiences.
