Job description

We are looking for an experienced and proactive candidate for the APO Leader (Japanese IT Comtor, Bridge Engineer, BrSE) position – someone who can lead the APO (IT Comtor) team and ensure smooth collaboration between Japanese clients and Vietnamese development teams.

In this role, you will act as a key bridge between both parties while also taking responsibility for team management, communication quality, and continuous process improvement.

What to do

• Lead, manage, train, and evaluate a team of APOs (IT Comtors).
• Allocate team members to projects based on project requirements and individual capabilities.
• Communicate with Japanese clients in regular or ad-hoc meetings and support the team in handling client requirements and issues.
• Gather and clarify customer requirements, ensuring accurate and complete communication between Japanese clients and the development team.
• Understand technical requirements from the development team and clearly explain them to Japanese clients.
• Establish and improve communication processes and standards for the team and projects.
• Handle complex communication issues, client complaints, misunderstandings, and sensitive situations with Japanese clients.
• Monitor team performance and use KPI / OKR data to improve team operations and communication quality.
• Participate in or support pre-sales activities, proposals, and quotations when required.
• Perform other business-related tasks as required.

Your skills and experience

You are an ideal candidate if you:

• Have experience managing or leading a team in an IT environment or projects working with Japanese clients.
• Have experience directly managing, training, and evaluating team members.
• Have Japanese proficiency equivalent to JLPT N1 and strong business communication skills.
• Have experience working in the IT field and a good understanding of software development processes and IT terminology.
• Have experience building or improving communication processes for a team or project.
• Have strong communication skills, logical thinking, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Have a good understanding of Japanese culture and working style.
• Have a high sense of responsibility and strong ownership.

You will have an advantage if you:

• Have experience as an IT Comtor, Business Analyst, Associate Product Owner, Project Manager, or similar role.
• Have experience handling client complaints, serious misunderstandings, or sensitive negotiations with Japanese clients.
• Have experience supporting pre-sales, proposal preparation, or quotation activities.
• Have experience using KPI / OKR or operational data to manage and improve team performance.
• Have experience in software development, Testing, Business Analysis, or Project Management.
