ABOUT US

Base.vn is a product-first technology company building a SaaS platform serving more than 11,000+ businesses across Vietnam and beyond.

As AI becomes a core capability across our product ecosystem, we are expanding into voice AI technologies to create more natural and intelligent user experiences. We are building AI-powered voice solutions that enable users to interact seamlessly through speech-from capturing voice on mobile devices to transcribing, understanding, and generating natural conversations.

At Base, research doesn‘t stop at experiments. We are looking for AI Engineers who can turn research breakthroughs into real product capabilities - from model development and experimentation to production deployment and continuous optimization.

WHAT YOU DO

As an AI Engineer, you will work at the intersection of AI Research, Product Engineering, and Production, building the core AI capabilities that power our voice platform.

Research & Develop Speech AI

Turn research ideas and emerging Speech AI technologies into practical AI capabilities. You will:

• Explore and prototype new approaches for speech and audio AI problems.
• Develop, fine-tune, and adapt speech models for real-world use cases.
• Evaluate and iterate on different modeling approaches to improve model performance.
• Translate promising research findings into solutions that can be integrated into our products.

Build Speech AI Systems

Develop and optimize intelligent voice technologies, including:

• Automatic Speech Recognition (Speech-to-Text)
• Text-to-Speech (Speech Synthesis)
• Audio processing and speech enhancement
• Speech understanding and voice interaction pipelines

Build End-to-End Audio AI Pipelines

Design and optimize production-ready audio AI pipelines, bridging AI models with real-world product environments. You will work on:

• Audio preprocessing and feature extraction
• Noise suppression and speech enhancement
• Real-time audio streaming and processing
• Model serving and inference pipelines
• Integration of AI models into cloud and mobile environments

Build AI-powered Product Experiences

Turn AI capabilities into real product experiences in collaboration with Product, Mobile, and Backend Engineers. You will contribute to:

• Voice recording and transcription
• AI-powered voice assistants
• Voice-driven workflows
• Natural conversational experiences
• AI capabilities embedded into mobile and business workflows

Productize & Scale AI Models

Take AI capabilities from prototype to reliable production systems. You will continuously work on:

• Improving speech recognition accuracy and robustness
• Improving speech synthesis quality and naturalness
• Reducing inference latency and resource consumption
• Optimizing models for different deployment environments
• Building scalable and reliable AI services
• Monitoring real-world model performance and using production feedback to drive further improvements

Your skills and experience

We are looking for engineers who enjoy solving challenging AI problems and building products that create real business impact.

• 3+ years of experience building AI/ML systems or AI-powered products.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Hands-on experience deploying AI models into production.
• Solid understanding of speech processing and audio machine learning.
• Experience working on one or more of the following:
  • Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR)
  • Text-to-Speech (TTS)
  • Audio AI or Voice AI applications
• Ability to design and implement end-to-end AI workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a product-oriented mindset.

Research, Data & Experimentation

• Research, reproduce, and evaluate state-of-the-art Speech AI methods, and translate promising ideas into real-world products.
• Design rigorous experiments, benchmarks, and systematic error analyses to understand model limitations and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Fine-tune and adapt speech models, and explore new modeling approaches when existing solutions are insufficient.
• Build and improve high-quality training and evaluation datasets, including data collection, synthetic data generation, augmentation, and quality validation.
• Continuously improve models and data based on experimental results and real-world production feedback.

Nice to Have: Experience with modern Speech Foundation Models and frameworks such as Whisper, wav2vec2, NVIDIA NeMo, XTTS, VITS, SpeechBrain, Kaldi, or equivalent technologies.

Additional experience in the following areas is a strong advantage:

• AI deployment on mobile devices
• Real-time audio streaming
• Speaker recognition and speaker diarization
• Voice cloning
• Audio signal processing
• LLM integration or conversational AI systems
