Job description

Akila is looking for a Senior AI Engineer who will be engaged into machine learning algorithm and theoretical frontier research which includes machine learning, deep learning and data mining. The candidate will be working across multiple teams and functions for developing cutting edge, creative and advanced AI applications, and processes. You should be comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment where speed, hard work and fresh thinking are critical to success.

• Design, develop, and deploy advanced machine learning models and generative AI to enhance product features and capabilities. 
• Implement scalable and efficient ML pipelines for processing data from data lake and/or data warehouse. 
• Conduct thorough data analysis to extract meaningful insights and patterns from related datasets. 
• Continuously monitor and evaluate model performance, making necessary adjustments and improvements. 
• Collaborate closely with team members within the organization (i.e. AI scientists, Product, QA, Backend Engineer, Leadership, etc.). 
• Implement agile, hands-on approaches in project execution, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to evolving business needs. 
• Communicate technical concepts and project progress effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment. 
• Solve technical issues and help shape an overarching strategy. 
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in ML/AI, and ESG technologies. 
• Contribute to the team's knowledge sharing, fostering an environment that values innovative thinking and the exploration of new ideas in Machine Learning.

Your skills and experience

• Bachelor’s or above in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Machine Learning, Data Science, and Software Engineering. 
• Experience in applied ML with a proven record of successful ML projects with vital individual contribution. 
• Deep understanding of data structure, performance optimization, and algorithms. 
• Proficiency in Python, and familiarity with Linux. 
• Experience of MLOps and platform building experience is preferred. 
• Strong background in some popular ML/AI frameworks and Python libraries. 
• Hands-on experience with optimization frameworks (e.g., RayTune, Optuna or Hyperopt). 
• Experience with containerized environments and microservices (Docker, Kubernetes). 
• Proven Experience with SQL/NoSQL DBs, Celery, Kafka, Elasticsearch and other Big Data technologies. 
• Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and analytical skills. 
• Team oriented, details oriented. Adaptable, resilient, and positive attitude. 
• Good English communication
