Based in New Zealand and expanded into the US, Hectre is a SaaS company that helps fruit growers and packers produce and market more quality fruit, with less environmental impact.
Formed in 2016, we are now a world-leading fruit tech company and our products are being used in 11+ countries.
Our mission is to empower fruit growers and packers with the world's simplest orchard technologies and we are 2 times winner of the 2021 & 2022 Global AgTech Breakthrough Awards. We have 02 core products:
(1) An orchard management software platform that helps growers digitize their orchards, moving paper-based data collection to the cloud, bringing together all orchard management activities into one place
(2) An AI-powered QC and fruit sizing solution that provides valuable early fruit sizing insights for packhouses, reducing costs and waste, while increasing revenues

I like how new ideas are always encouraged at Hectre. Seeing your ideas turned into something loved by clients is such a rewarding feeling itself. The interesting and diverse challenges here also excite and motivate me to learn and grow further.
Definitely the farm visits where I can experience what it is like to be a farmer! On-site experience to understand our clients and their needs is really useful to create the most suitable and reliable application.
Senior Backend Engineer - Lorena Račić
For me, it's extremely rewarding & humbling to be able to work in a team that creates such valuable impacts on the world around us. Our product directly helps remove the administration overhead for growers, while giving packers real-time fruit quality data for strategic storage, reduction in packing downtime, and minimization of the waste.
As a part of engineering team I get a chance to explore and work with variety of tech stacks. SaaS, IaS, real-time databases, mobile platforms, ML models are part of our daily life at Hectre. When you add inquisitive, quality-driven minds supported by a great vision for the future of the product, I think that's when magic happens.
Senior Backend & ML Engineer - Phuc Pham
It's really cool that we're leveraging the newest technologies to stay ahead in the Agritech field. We've built ML/CV solutions into our products & I'm proud to see how happy our clients are. We're planning to bring IoT, Data Warehouse, BI and more into our product in the near future and I can't wait to see the impact that it brings to our clients!
At Hectre, you're always encouraged to learn new things. I’ve learnt how to build a professional service on cloud infra & deploy with the newest Infrastructure as Code with Terraform. Not only does it help me to get a deeper understanding of AWS cloud services, but also provide a sharp view on optimizing & building end-to-end software solutions.
