ABOUT THE JOB

The Senior Software Engineer (AI) drives the delivery of AI-enabled solutions, automation, and engineering capabilities that improve developer experience, productivity, and software delivery outcomes across NAB.

Working closely with architects, engineers, and stakeholders across Australia and Vietnam, you'll design, build, and enhance scalable solutions, while championing engineering quality, security, compliance, and continuous improvement through modern software engineering practices.

YOUR SKILL AND EXPERIENCES

Essential Capabilities

• Strong software engineering experience with hands-on application development and modern development practices.
• Experience working with Git, code repositories, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Experience building or supporting AI-enabled solutions, automation, intelligent workflows, or developer productivity tooling.
• Strong focus on engineering quality, coding standards, security, compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborative mindset with experience working across cross-functional and globally distributed teams.
• Understanding of software delivery best practices, DevOps, Agile methodologies, and enterprise technology environments.

Experience

• Proven experience in Software Engineering, Application Development, Platform Engineering, or related technology roles.
• Hands-on experience across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Experience working with enterprise-scale platforms, cloud technologies, and engineering tooling.
• Experience implementing automation solutions, AI-powered capabilities, or developer experience improvements.
• Experience contributing to engineering standards, governance, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Exposure to technology risk, controls, compliance, or secure delivery practices in complex environments.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and high-quality technology solutions.
