Key Responsibilities

1. Engineering Delivery & Execution

• Own engineering delivery within the assigned squad, ensuring quality, speed, and reliability
• Plan and track engineering priorities, milestones, and deliverables
• Identify and resolve blockers, dependencies, and delivery risks proactively
• Ensure engineering work aligns with product and business priorities
• Drive continuous improvements in development processes and team productivity

2. Technical Leadership & Engineering Standards

• Set and maintain engineering standards covering code quality, testing, maintainability, and best practices
• Drive technical decisions at the squad level, balancing speed, quality, and long-term maintainability
• Review technical approaches and provide guidance on architecture and implementation
• Identify and address technical debt, technical risks, and engineering bottlenecks
• Stay hands-on enough to understand and challenge technical decisions when required

3. People Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop engineers into high-performing team members
• Set clear expectations and provide regular feedback on performance and development
• Support hiring, onboarding, career development, and succession planning
• Build a team culture based on ownership, accountability, continuous learning, and high standards
• Develop engineers to operate independently without excessive management oversight

4. Product & Cross-functional Collaboration 

• Work closely with Product, QA, Project, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution
• Align engineering capacity and priorities with product and business requirements
• Translate technical complexity into clear communication for non-technical stakeholders
• Proactively communicate delivery progress, risks, dependencies, and trade-offs

5. Continuous Improvement & Innovation 

• Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, tools, quality, and efficiency
• Encourage adoption of effective engineering practices and technologies
• Promote continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence
• Contribute to initiatives that improve the scalability and reliability of the platform

Yêu cầu công việc

Engineering Leadership

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 4 years in a Team Lead, Engineering Manager, or equivalent leadership role
• Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing engineering teams
• Strong track record of delivering software products in fast-paced environments

Technical & Engineering Skills

• Strong technical background in backend, frontend, or full-stack development
• Solid understanding of software architecture, coding practices, testing, APIs, and system design
• Experience identifying and managing technical debt, engineering risks, and scalability challenges
• Hands-on experience building and shipping production software

Delivery & Execution

• Strong ownership of engineering delivery, quality, and reliability
• Able to prioritise competing requirements and make effective technical trade-offs
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Communication & Stakeholder Management

• Able to translate complex technical concepts into clear business communication
• Strong collaboration skills across Product, QA, Project, and Business teams
• Comfortable managing technical discussions with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

People & Leadership

• Strong coaching and mentoring capability
• High standards for engineering quality and team performance
• Proactive, accountable, and comfortable making decisions in a fast-moving environment
