URGENT - Senior Shopify Dev: Integrations & Platform

Job description

You will work closely with our Technical Lead to maintain and enhance Shopify Plus ecosystems, supporting multiple high-traffic eCommerce stores.

This role requires a developer who is confident working across Shopify theme development, integrations, APIs, deployment pipelines and troubleshooting production issues.

You will take ownership of the day-to-day technical operation of multiple high-traffic Shopify Plus stores, ensuring stability, performance and continuous improvement across a complex ecosystem of themes, integrations and third-party services.

This role is best suited to developers who are comfortable working beyond theme development, including integrations, APIs, deployment workflows and troubleshooting live eCommerce platforms.

Platform Development & Maintenance

• Maintain and enhance Shopify Plus stores across a multi-store architecture
• Maintain and improve non-standard architecture (React + Shopify theme layer)
• Implement theme changes, custom features and UI improvements using Liquid, JavaScript, HTML and CSS
• Troubleshoot complex issues across the Shopify ecosystem including themes, apps, APIs and integrations
• Support and maintain custom Shopify functionality and non-standard implementations

Integrations & APIs

• Maintain integrations between Shopify and third-party systems including ERP and shipping platforms
• Debug API and middleware issues affecting product data, orders, inventory and fulfilment
• Work with internal teams and external vendors to resolve integration issues

Deployment & Release Management

• Manage the deployment workflow from Git to Shopify themes
• Ensure changes are properly tested before release
• Maintain a structured development and release process across environments
• Monitor site performance and recommend improvements to Core Web Vitals, page speed and front-end performance
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks caused by apps, scripts or front-end architecture
• Work closely with the Technical Lead to plan and implement technical improvements
• Communicate clearly with project managers and team members about issues, risks and solutions
• Provide technical input into new features and architecture decisions
• Assist with documentation of the platform architecture and workflows

Your skills and experience

Qualifications

Essential:

• 3+ years Shopify development experience
• Strong expertise in Liquid, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML and CSS
• Proficient in ReactJS, NextJS, and Hydrogen (a significant advantage) 
• Strong experience with Nodejs technologies and their modern frameworks like Next.js, demonstrating expertise in TypeScript, React Server Components and API route orchestration.
• Experience integrating Shopify with external systems via APIs
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in production environments
• Experience working with Git-based deployment workflows
• Experience working with third-party Shopify apps and custom integrations
• Strong understanding of Shopify architecture and limitations

Highly desirable:

• Experience with GraphQL / Shopify Admin API
• Experience with React or modern JS frameworks
• Experience with middleware integrations
• Experience with ERP / fulfilment integrations
• Experience optimising Shopify performance and Core Web Vitals
