Senior IT Infrastructure Specialist (Security)

Job description

We are seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure & Security to oversee and enhance our IT infrastructure with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity. This role also involves supporting basic DevOps practices to streamline IT operations. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in security practices and protocols, cloud environments (especially AWS), and IT infrastructure, with internationally recognized security certifications.

1. IT Infrastructure Management
   • Design, deploy, and maintain a scalable and reliable IT infrastructure, both on-premise and in the cloud (AWS), ensure high availability, performance optimization, and routine backups.
   • Administer and monitor servers, networks, storages and virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V.
   • Plan, manage server and network resource allocation strategically, anticipating growth and ensuring scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
2. Security Management
   • Implement and maintain robust security practices, including endpoint protection, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems (IDS/IPS).
   • Develop and enforce security policies and procedures, conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests.
   • Manage incident response, including conducting post-incident analyses, maintaining logs for forensic investigations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
   • Stay updated on the latest security threats and vulnerabilities, proactively apply preventive measures or propose solutions to mitigate risks.
3. Cloud Management (AWS)
   • Optimize AWS cost, performance, and resource allocation.
   • Develop and enforce cloud security best practices, including identity management and network segmentation.
   • Automate infrastructure tasks using AWS tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform).
4. Basic DevOps
   • Collaborate with development teams to configure and manage CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments and streamline workflows, ensure secure and scalable application deployments.
   • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for system automation and scalability using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
   • Monitor and troubleshoot application and system performance using logging and monitoring tools like ELK Stack, Grafana, or Prometheus.
5. Documentation

Maintain detailed technical documentation for infrastructure and security policies.

Your skills and experience

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure and security roles, with demonstrated success in security initiatives.
• Certifications:
  • Mandatory: International security certifications such as CISSP, or CEH, or CISM or equivalent.
  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Security – Specialty) are highly preferred.
• Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in managing enterprise systems, networks, firewalls, and encryption protocols.
  • Manage virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and storage systems.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat intelligence, and security incident handling.
  • Expertise in AWS services.
  • Familiarity and experience with DevOps tools and practices (Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. 
• Soft Skills:
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset, particularly in security incident handling.
