About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (Golang) to design and build scalable backend systems supporting Masan’s digital transformation initiatives across retail, FMCG, and commerce ecosystems.

You will work on core transformation platforms, including integration services, internal platforms, and data-driven applications that enable large-scale digital products across Masan’s business units.

This role requires strong expertise in Golang, microservices architecture, distributed systems, and high-performance backend engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services for Masan’s digital platforms and transformation initiatives.
• Build and maintain microservices-based systems using Golang following modern software architecture principles.
• Develop high-performance APIs (REST/gRPC) and service integrations across internal systems and platforms.
• Contribute to building core platform services, integration layers, and backend capabilities supporting multiple digital products.
• Optimize system performance including latency, throughput, concurrency, and scalability.
• Work closely with Product, Data, DevOps, and Frontend/Mobile teams to deliver reliable end-to-end solutions.
• Ensure system reliability through logging, monitoring, alerting, and distributed tracing.
• Participate in architecture discussions, system design reviews, and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term system improvements through root cause analysis.
• Contribute to engineering best practices across CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment processes.

Your skills and experience

• 3–5+ years of backend development experience, with strong hands-on experience in Golang.
• Experience designing and building microservices and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of API design (REST/gRPC) and service-to-service communication.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (K8s) in cloud-native environments.
• Solid experience with SQL/NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, or MongoDB.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and modern DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, or ELK/EFK.
• Strong understanding of concurrency, performance optimization, and scalable system design.

Nice to have

• Experience building large-scale digital platforms or enterprise systems.
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and clean architecture.
• Experience in retail, FMCG, supply chain, or digital commerce ecosystems.
• Experience integrating with data platforms, analytics systems, or customer platforms.
