Job description
The Game Engineer will have duties including:
- Implementing and operating game features using Unity and other engines.
- Collaborating with the Creative, Production, and Engineering teams to deliver high quality products.
- Learning internal engines, new techniques, and best practices, implementing them, and sharing them with the team.
- Helping diagnose and solve technical problems during the development, QA and go-live process.
- Using tools and scripts as necessary to optimize workflow.
- Optimizing content for memory and performance gains while maintaining our high standards for user experience.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Your skills and experience
- Has at least 1-2 years of experience using Unity
- Academic background or relevant experience in a similar role or industry.
- The ability to write scripts (JSON/Lua) for the various tools involved in the art-to-game pipeline is a big plus.
- Be able to use English, both written and spoken to work with a variety of internal stakeholders
- Detail-oriented, results-oriented, adaptable, and energetic. You're proactive and well-organized, able to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Previous experience with game or mobile game development pipelines.
- A deep passion for gaming and a healthy respect for our players.
- An interest in and aptitude for optimizing assets for narrow-bandwidth or low-performance environments.
- Knowledge of current production technologies and their relevant application – Adobe Photoshop is a plus.
