Job description
JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dynamic and technical IT Team Leader to head our development team and drive the execution of our core engineering projects. Reporting directly to the Technical Manager, you will act as the vital bridge between high-level architectural strategies and the day-to-day execution of your team.
In this role, you will maintain full ownership of your team's delivery, ensuring the scalability and reliability of our distributed systems built on Java, Golang, and Microservices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Architecture, Design & Code Quality
- System Design & Implementation: Analyze, design, code, test, document, and implement high-performance applications and core enhancements utilizing highly scalable microservices architecture.
- Standards & Guardrails: Review engineering designs and pull requests, establishing stringent standards for clean, simple, robust, and maintainable source code.
- Optimization: Lead refactoring efforts and optimize microservices and RESTful API ecosystems for maximal availability, reliability, and low-latency performance.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- People & Growth: Guide, mentor, and inspire a growing squad of backend engineers, promoting advanced software development methodologies, design principles, and engineering best practices.
- Delivery Management: Establish technical roadmaps for the development lifecycles, ensuring timely project delivery and risk mitigation.
- Innovation: Promote a continuous learning culture, driving exploration into emerging frameworks, tech stacks, and cloud-native solutions.
Production, Infrastructure & Operations
- System Health: Supervise continuous system monitoring, observing servers for optimal uptime, system health, and production environment functionality.
- Incident Management: Troubleshoot, fix, and perform root-cause analysis on critical production issues, driving strategic enhancements to prevent recurrence.
- DevOps Alignment: Collaborate with the DevOps loop to enhance deployment workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Management Alignment: Work closely with the Technical Manager and Solution Architect to map business objectives into clear technical requirements and architecture specifications.
- Frontend Integration: Partner seamlessly with Frontend teams and product teams to translate complex UI/UX structures and client capabilities (such as ReactJS, asynchronous web frameworks, and advanced state interfaces) into solid, matching backend contracts.
Your skills and experience
Technical Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of software development experience (with at least 1-2 years in a Senior Backend, Team Lead, or Technical Lead capacity).
- Core Languages: Solid, production-grade proficiency in Java (Spring Boot) and Golang frameworks.
- Architecture & APIs: Extensive expertise in designing and engineering high-throughput RESTful APIs and distributed Microservices architecture.
- Engineering Fundamentals: Strong, foundational mastery of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Design Patterns, Data Structures, and Core Algorithms.
- Databases & Caching: Robust experience dealing with Relational Database Management Systems (Postgres, MySQL) along with caching engines such as Redis or Memcached.
- Messaging Systems: Solid hands-on experience designing asynchronous event streams and message handlers utilizing RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, or Redis.
- DevOps & Infrastructure: Proficient working exposure with Linux environments, Docker containerization, Gitlab CI/CD tooling, and proactive production monitoring.
Soft Skills & Leadership
- Proven technical leadership capabilities with the ability to articulate architectural decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving mindset, exceptional debugging acumen, and proactive ownership of system reliability.
- Self-motivated, versatile, and passionate about exploring, evaluating, and adopting new technologies.
