A critical aspect of our strategy is developing our engineering team within a global framework. As part of the Money Forward Group, transitioning swiftly into a global tech leader, MFV is strategically positioned to enhance our engineering capabilities through focused investment.
We are advancing a major project in enterprise-level HR solutions, collaboratively developed by our teams in Vietnam and Japan, targeted initially at Japanese companies with future plans for global expansion. To push this project forward, we are looking for a capable leader to oversee our diverse engineering team, including Backend, Frontend, QA, and Product Owner. This role involves close collaboration with our Japanese team and driving the product toward sustained success over the next three years and beyond. This position offers visibility to senior management in Vietnam and Japan and represents a significant opportunity for career development as a senior manager in QA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a Team: Direct a project team of 10+ members, managing all aspects of product development and fostering team cohesion.
- Incidents management: Monitor and review incidents, develop improvement plans to prevent recurrence, and ensure their implementation within the organization.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with the Japan team to refine the QA process, ensuring efficiency and best practices.
- Talent Management: Hire and mentor top QA engineering talent, focusing on skill development and team performance enhancement.
- Performance Evaluation: Conduct transparent and fair performance evaluations, from goal setting to final assessments.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary liaison for project communications with stakeholders, managing expectations and updates.
Your skills and experience
Requirements:
Must-have:
- Degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of QA engineer’s experience
- 3+ years managing the QA team
- Built and/or led a QA engineering team of 5+ members
- Experience for back office (HR related) application software
- Excellent problem-solving in ambiguous situations without clear instructions
- Managing and monitoring Incidents in the production environment, making improvement plans
- Proven people management skills: team building, employee satisfaction, career development, and mentoring
- Familiar with Agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, Scrum of Scrum, and its best practices
- Professional working proficiency in English.
- ISTQB certification or equivalent knowledge; Advanced Level is highly recommended.
Nice-to-have:
- B2B Application Expertise: Experience in managing or developing B2B applications, with a knack for solving complex business and technology challenges, particularly in finance, accounting, banking systems, and scalable web applications.
- Analytical Decision-Making: Leveraging data analysis for strategic decisions, emphasizing software development metrics and user engagement.
- Cross-functional and Innovative Leadership: Experience in cross-departmental collaboration and leading R&D efforts to foster innovation and align product development with company goals.
- Language Skills: Japanese proficiency is a plus to understanding business requirements and customer voices. (N2 level or above recommended)
