Data Engineer (Database, Python, AWS)

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design, implement, and maintain data pipelines that process large volumes of data efficiently. In this role, you will work closely with the Data and R&D teams to ensure our data infrastructure supports analytics needs and business objectives.

Our current setup is in the AWS ecosystem and our goal is to integrate TimescaleDB, ClickHouse or similar tool, to build scalable solutions that can deliver insights in near real-time.

OtherWe expect the person to be able to have a good English proficiency when it comes to writing, as he will need to be able to compile documentation and most of our communication will happen via Slack or email.
Listening / Speaking proficiency is a big plus

Your skills and experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement data ingestion pipelines to handle large volumes of data from multiple sources, with a particular focus on AWS services (RDS, S3, EC2, Lambda).
• Make it possible to enable fast, flexible analytics even with the huge amount of data we have (probably with the use of another tool such as the aforementioned TimescaleDB or ClickHouse).
• Monitor and optimize data processing workflows for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous testing and validation processes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong focus on data processing and analytics.
• Proficiency in AWS services, particularly those related to data storage and processing.
• Experience with TimescaleDB, ClickHouse or similar time-series databases.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with QuickSight, our current BI tool (part of AWS offering).
