ITviec, the premium job site that focuses on only IT jobs in Vietnam, today announced the launch of our IT Salary Survey 2023. 

The ITviec’s IT Salary Survey, which is conducted annually from 2022, is designed to capture the landscape of IT jobs and IT careers in Vietnam by collecting information on current salary and salary expectations (including salary ranges for different IT roles, skills, and experience levels), as well as factors that can affect salary, such as education background, location, industry, and company size. 

The survey also aims to understand the viewpoints of IT professionals in Vietnam about an ideal job and company, their motivations and challenges at work, programming languages & tools being used, other learning and development plans.

IT Salary Survey 2023 is an improved version of the previous survey with a broader coverage, achieved by adding new questions and revising answer options to better reflect the states of IT jobs and IT career field. As a result, the responses from respondents will be able to provide more valuable and insightful information.

Specifically, new questions have been added for IT professionals are as follows:

  • Their company size
  • Expected salary increase in the current job
  • Reasons to apply for a new job
  • Maximum spending for soft-skills
  • Their perspective of Generative AI
  • Company profile information preference while searching for jobs
  • CV template preference
  • Average cost of living
  • Marital status

The following revised answer options are included:

  • IT positions
  • Company industry
  • Programming languages
  • Job’s difficulties/challenges
  • Reason to leave
  • The ideal company to stay long-term
  • Job opportunity evaluation
  • Expectations to the interviewer
  • Skills for self-development

In addition, we have removed some sections of the survey that are no longer relevant or up-to-date.

The survey will be conducted online from September 19, 2023 to the end of October 10, 2023 and is open for access by all IT professionals in Vietnam.

The ITviec team expects to make a greater contribution in the IT Salary Survey this year by engaging with more IT professionals, providing a more diverse view of IT jobs and careers in Vietnam.
