Our organization partners closely with global enterprise clients to drive data-driven transformation and optimize operational performance. We are seeking a Japanese-speaking Project Manager specializing in data projects to serve as the primary liaison with Japanese stakeholders, ensuring the successful execution and delivery of critical data initiatives.
In this role you will:
- In this role, you will work closely with Japanese stakeholders to understand their needs, define project scopes, and ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of data solutions. These projects will range from dashboard and report development to analytics and data governance activities. By balancing strategic vision, technical understanding, and strong stakeholder engagement, you will help drive value from our clients’ data assets.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Engage directly with Japanese stakeholders to understand business requirements, translate needs into actionable data projects, and maintain clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate regular status updates, workshops, and review sessions, ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations and organizational objectives.
Project Planning & Execution:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies, ensuring all data initiatives are delivered on-time and within scope.
- Monitor progress against project objectives and provide proactive updates to stakeholders and internal teams.
Data Project Management:
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of data-related solutions such as dashboards, reports, analytics models, and data governance frameworks.
- Coordinate with internal technical teams (e.g., data engineers, data analysts, BI developers) to ensure accuracy, reliability, and scalability of delivered solutions.
Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement:
- Establish and enforce data governance standards, ensuring deliverables meet quality and compliance criteria.
- Continuously seek opportunities to optimize existing processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and improve data quality and accessibility.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain clear and concise documentation of project requirements, decisions, progress, and outcomes.
- Provide regular performance metrics, insights, and recommendations to support data-driven decision-making at all organizational levels.ion journey.
Your skills and experience
What you will bring:
- Language Skills: Native-level or advanced business proficiency in Japanese and English, enabling confident communication with both local and international stakeholders.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in project management, with a significant focus on data initiatives (BI dashboards, analytics, data engineering, data governance).
- Technical Acumen:
(1) Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), data warehousing concepts, SQL, and analytics methodologies.
(2) Prior experience managing full lifecycle data projects is highly desirable.
(3) Bonus if prior experience with Snowflake and / or Geographic Information System analytics.
- Project Management Expertise: Proven experience applying project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and using related tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, MS Project) to ensure on-time and on-budget project delivery.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities. Comfortable leading cross-functional teams and guiding them towards shared objectives.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to proactively identify and resolve challenges, ensuring the continuous success of data initiatives.
