Job description
- Monitor VPN infrastructure and network traffic for anomalies, performance issues, and security threats.
- Analyze events and respond to incidents promptly.
- Collaborate with the engineers and third parties to resolve issues.
- Track and document defects and resolutions through a designated ticketing system.
- Escalate complex issues to management and other relevant teams.
- Handle both technical and non-technical communication with users with diplomacy and politeness to provide high levels of client satisfaction.
- Perform regular audits and assessments of VPN configurations and access controls to maintain compliance with security standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members and assist in their professional development.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in VPN platform monitoring, system administration, networking, and cloud computing.
Your skills and experience
- Proven experience of at least 6 years as a NOC engineer and 3 years as NOC Lead Engineer, preferably in a VPN-focused environment.
- Experience in using diversified tools to monitor performance and capability of network systems and working to triage or troubleshoot the issues within defined areas.
- Efficient at tracking and documenting all defects and resolutions in detail through a designated ticketing system.
- Capable of proper escalation of complicated issues to management, other IT resources, third parties and/or vendors, as appropriate.
- Ability to work in a Command Center environment.
- Good knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc.).
- Good knowledge of VPN technologies and protocols (OpenVPN, IPsec, SSL/TLS, WireGuard, etc.).
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, particularly AWS, including EC2, VPC, IAM, and related services.
- Solid understanding of security principles and best practices in network and system administration.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, ITIL, CASP, AWS Certified SysOps
- Administrator, Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator) are a plus.
