ABOUT THE JOB

As a Technical Lead Engineer within NAB, you will be applying your technical skills to ensure our customer platforms as user-friendly as possible, and to make our customer experience a fantastic ride! You will be part of our delivery team and will be responsible for providing technical leadership throughout all phases of the software delivery life cycle as we initiate a transformation of NAB technology.

YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, review, implement, and manage Java applications and services for the production and pre-release environments; 
• Design, develop, review, implement, and manage continuous integration, build management and deployment scripts, systems, and any code as required; 
• Participate in Agile software development, prototyping, and code review with international development teams to build scalable microservices-based products and APIs using Java technologies on AWS Cloud architecture; 
• Fully understand the requirements of the customer or business and utilize this knowledge to develop applications that are consistent with this; 
• Work with delivery teams to achieve success through development using CI/CD and DevOps practices, processes, and tooling; 
• Provide robust coding practices, solid unit/component test coverage, and debugging code. 
• Mentor, provide technical direction and engineering leadership for a team of engineers 

Your skills and experience

• 7+ years of experience in application development and support roles. 
• 5+ years of experience in Python or Java 8+/Spring Boot 
• Experience as a  Python or Java Technical lead in a complex, enterprise level development environment 
• Experience in designing & developing RESTful APIs and microservices-based system;  
• CI/CD – Good understanding of CI/CD concepts and working knowledge of building pipelines using at least one automation tool. 
• Proven experience in AWS DevOps implementations. (Terraform, Cloud-formation, Ansible, Jenkins) 
• Domain knowledge in operational risk domain is highly regarded 
• Adopt to Rally for features and stories with effort estimation for Development activity and track completion of stories within sprints 
• Good English communication skills 
• Excellent Knowledge of agile practices and SDLC principles. 
• Ability to understand and challenge status quo, propose solutions, gain stakeholder buy in and execute to agreed resolution.
