Job description

As a database developer, you are responsible for maintaining, testing, and developing database structures and processes. With your strong database knowledge and expertise, you will also be involved in project planning and providing supports for software, product and client needs addressed through the database. You may also participate in planning and coordinating security measures to include integrity, backup, and overall database security.

• Work in an agile team to design, prototype, develop, and document new product offerings and enhance existing products and tools
• Monitoring and maintaining existing database scripts and database server performance.
• Troubleshoot application issues and data-related problems.
• Provide database administration support to the Systems Administrators including database upgrades, backups and user account creations where necessary.
• Evaluate new frameworks and contribute to technology selection.
• Involving in brainstorming sharing knowledge and ideas for system design upgrades.
• Understand high-level business requirements and produce technical specifications, designs, documents, interface control documents, and architecture documents
• Develop and maintain high quality codes and perform code reviews of other team members.
• Facilitate and guide initiatives for improving development processes.
• Help develop robust automated unit/functional test suites and development scripts.
• Work with internal QA teams on system, performance, and acceptance testing.

Working time: 7am - 4pm, Mon - Fri

Your skills and experience

Must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years + of  hand on experience in database development in MS SQL Server.
• Strong RDBMS skills – SQL querying, writing stored procedures, triggers, functions, pipeline functions, views, table partitioning, database script performance tunings
• Strong data analysis, and problem-solving skills with good knowledge in MS Excel or third party tools.
• With can do attitude – always ready to help and involve in team projects.
• Quickly adapt to new technologies and processes.
• Ability to use verbal and written communication skills to present information to a diverse population (technical and non-technical)
• Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong software engineering, development, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting skills.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge/experienced in AWS Cloud Services.
• Data warehouse and data mart design principles
• Troubleshooting and resolving database issues such as integrity, replication, connectivity and security.
• SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and Multidimensional Expressions (MDX)
• Knowledge in other database engines such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or NoSQL.
• Knowledge in .NET, C#, Server Structure & Design Improvements, Data Security & Encryption.
