Job description
1. Primary Objectives
The Senior QC Executive position will participate in implementing and executing all aspects of Testing to ensure that the quality standards of software products are met. The role requires hands-on QC expertise, and the ability to take initiative and evolve our QC processes. The right candidate will be able to analyze the systems to determine what to test, the priority of those tests, and the best way to test for new features, enhancements, and defect fixes.
2. Main responsibilities
• Apply industry best practices and develop new tools and processes to meet quality goals.
• Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans, and procedures (manual and automated).
• Diagnose defects and track them from discovery to resolution.
• Partner with engineering teams to stay informed of new technologies being introduced and to ensure that system components are designed for testability.
• Respond to all requests from team members in a timely professional manner.
Your skills and experience
1. Qualification
• Bachelor‘s Degree in Computer Science/IT
• Test Certification is desired but not mandatory
2. Knowledge & Experience
• 5+ years‘ experience in the software quality field including prior hands-on quality engineering experience
• A deep understanding of Software Quality Control (SQC) and Software Development Process, familiarity with the entire software development life cycle and test cycles (Unit, Regression, Functional, Systems, Stress & Scale, Smoke & Sanity)
• Good background of Java programming languages
• Demonstrated experience developing and executing test cases, scripts, plans, and procedures to support various development methodologies, and experience in Automation testing
• Understanding of multi-tier web application architecture and deployment, experience with testing web-based/ mobile applications/ Web service/Web API
• Understanding of existing QC best practices and methodologies to design, implement, and automate processes
• Experience coordinating with external QC resources
• Prior success using a metrics-driven approach and closed-loop feedback to improve software deliverables and improve the predictability and reliability of releases
• Experience in banking, finance, or securities sectors is a big plus
3. Soft skills
• Good documentation skills
• Detailed and effective written communication skills for documenting the features tested and bugs found
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, extremely responsive, and able to prioritize a large number of tasks
• Self-motivated, works well independently and with others
• Able to perform effectively & independently and mentor others in software testing
• Ability to meet deadlines and deliver within our high-demand environment
• Required to be a highly motivated team player, focused on customer satisfaction, and solution/results-driven.
• Good command of written English is a big plus.
