Insight 2: AI as a Structural Element in Business Strategy

AI is transitioning from a supportive tool to a core component of business operations and strategy:

According to McKinsey & Company’s “The State of AI 2025”, 78% of global organizations have integrated AI into at least one business function. Additionally, 71% report regular use of Generative AI, up from 65% in early 2024. Furthermore, 21% have redesigned entire workflows utilizing Generative AI.

KPMG’s Q1 AI Pulse Survey 2025 reveals that 93% of business leaders believe investments in Generative AI have enhanced long-term strategic performance.

ITviec’s IT Salary and Recruitment Market Report 2024–2025 indicates that 33.9% of Vietnamese enterprises are developing long-term plans to implement Generative AI in HR functions.
Leading tech companies in Vietnam emphasize long-term investments in technological capabilities and human resources. Mr. Choi Joo Ho, General Director of Samsung Vietnam, stated in an interview with VietnamPlus:

“We will develop high-quality human resources necessary for the advancement of new technologies such as 5G, AI, and Big Data, as well as invest in infrastructure.”

This underscores a strategic commitment to foundational investments supporting sustainable growth in the AI era.

Insight 3: Restructuring Developer Competencies

The rapid advancement of AI is reshaping core competencies in the software development industry:

Shift from Specific Coding to AI Collaboration: GitHub’s “The State of Octoverse 2024” reports that 92% of developers have utilized AI-assisted coding tools, with 87% of GitHub Copilot users noting reduced repetitive tasks, allowing more focus on creativity and problem-solving.

Emergence of Prompt Engineering: McKinsey & Company’s “The State of AI 2025” indicates that 81% of developers believe future programming will require effective collaboration and communication with AI. Platforms like Builder.ai and Figma AI enable developers to create products from natural language descriptions, transforming traditional software development approaches.

Increased Demand for Cross-Disciplinary Skills: IBM’s “Future of Software Engineering with AI” (2025) notes a 1.5-fold increase in demand for developers skilled in software architecture, cloud optimization, and security testing between 2024 and 2025. Despite AI’s capabilities, it cannot fully replace human roles in system design and comprehensive security assurance.

These developments highlight the need for developers to cultivate systems thinking and enhance collaboration skills with AI tools to adapt and thrive in the evolving technological landscape.

Conclusion & Recommendations

Data from Q1 2025 indicates that the IT market is entering a phase of significant differentiation, with AI and data becoming central to recruitment and business strategies. Software engineers, in particular, are proactively redefining their skill sets.

This trend represents a structural shift rather than a cyclical fluctuation, prompting companies to:

  • Redesign internal competency frameworks aligned with AI/ML, Cloud, and Data Science.
  • Implement comprehensive AI integration strategies across products, operations, and training.
  • Accelerate branding and talent mapping initiatives targeting AI professionals.

Companies that proactively restructure competencies and establish comprehensive AI strategies will gain a sustainable advantage in this new phase of market differentiation.
