ITviec Company Review allows job seekers to share their experience working for a company. It also allows companies to respond directly to reviewers.
Why did ITviec introduce this feature?
Our mission is to help IT job seekers make the career decisions that suit them best. Reviews by employees or ex-employees helps them choose the job and company that is right for them.
What are the benefits for employers?
- Richer employer brand. More and richer information about your company online.
- Improve with detailed feedback. See how your company compares to others. Understand better where your employer brand is strong and where you can use improvement.
- Proactively communicate about your brand. You can respond to each review. Show job seekers that you are responsive to job seeker concerns and that their feedback is important to you.
Content Guidelines and Quality Control
Can anyone submit a review for my company?
Yes. Any user registered and signed into ITviec may submit a company review.
Can anyone post anything they want?
No. ITviec enforces clear Content Guidelines to ensure polite reviews that are helpful to both job seekers and companies.
How do you make sure reviews contain quality content?
ITviec has several measures to ensure quality reviews from real people:
- Strict Content Guidelines. Reviews that are use bad language or contain personal attacks are rejected.
- Verified email address. To submit a review, users must be registered with a verified email address.
- Anti-abuse tools. We have automatic anti-abuse measures in place to prevent review-spamming and to detect false users and false reviews.
- Human review. Each review is read by a human on our team to make sure it is suitable and helpful.
Do you verify that a person really worked at my company before approving a review?
Quality, real reviews are important to us. Each review is checked by a human on our team to make sure it meets our Content Guidelines. We reject any review that we believe is false, impolite or not helpful to our community.
To verify employment history would require a background check on each person who submits a review. Although we do not do that, we are confident that the human and automatic quality control measures we have in place will result in quality reviews for your company.
Can we edit or delete a review?
No. Employers are unable to edit or delete reviews.
Winning the trust of job seekers is an important goal. Users would know immediately if employers deleted any review that contained helpful criticism.
However, if you feel a review is false or fraudulent, please contact us. We will review all reviews again to make sure they meet our standards.
A review of our company is inaccurate. Will you remove it?
Our Content Team will review any review you believe to be inaccurate regarding objective facts.
Please remember, however, that reviews are subjective opinions regarding the experience of the reviewer. If we feel the review meets our Content Guidelines we will keep it on our site.
We’re not happy with our review score. What should we do?
We’ve found that review scores tend to improve with more reviews. We suggest you encourage your team to submit reviews by sending them this link: https://itviec.com/companies/submit-another-review. More reviews will show a clearer, more balanced picture of your company.
How can my company get more reviews?
This is a great idea and it’s easy to do. Just sent this link to your employees and ask them to submit a review: https://itviec.com/companies/submit-another-review.
Critical Reviews
Why does ITviec allow critical reviews of my company?
We believe that a balanced mix of reviews from different viewpoints shows the clearest picture of a company for ITviec jobseekers. We’ve also found that jobseekers do not trust reviews if none of them are critical.
How does ITviec ensure that reviews are “balanced”?
- No critical reviews will appear on your review page before you have at least two positive reviews.
- No critical reviews will appear unless they contain positive points as well.
- The first 2-3 reviews on your review page will always be positive. We will never show critical reviews first.
Will ITviec show critical reviews on our “Company Overview” page?
No. We will show only positive reviews on the Company Overview page.
Are there more critical reviews than positive ones?
No. We’ve found that users submit many more positive reviews than critical ones.
We received a 1-star review. Will you delete it?
We will delete any review that does not meet our Content Guidelines. For example, reviews that contain bad language, personal attacks or confidential information will be deleted.
If a review is thoughtful, polite and meets our guidelines it will be approved even if it is 1 star. We’ve found that no matter how good of an employer you are, there will be someone who felt their experience at your company was not good. Remember that a user review reflects the person’s subjective experience which may be totally different from other people who worked at your company.
Won’t a 1-star review hurt our employer brand?
We feel that 1-star reviews are a great opportunity for employers to learn about areas for improvement. It’s also a great opportunity for employers to show they care by responding to the reviewer directly on our site. We’ve found that companies can turn a poor review into an asset if they show a willingness to listen and respond to the problem.
We’ve also found that job seekers will lose trust in the reviews if all reviews are 5-star. Getting a 1-star review suggests to job seekers that your 5-star reviews are accurate too.
An ex-employee who was fired is creating multiple false reviews. Will ITviec delete them?
We have measures in place to detect and reject false or multiple reviews from the same person. If you believe some of the reviews on your page are false or malicious, please let us know immediately. We will re-review carefully to check that the reviews meet our standards.
Responding to Reviews
Can we respond to each review on our company review page?
Yes! You can respond to all your reviews by signing into your admin account on ITviec here: https://itviec.com/employer/sign_in.
Your responses will appear below the employee review on your review page. You can also go back and edit your response any time.
We recommend you respond to all employee reviews. Responding shows that company management cares about and listens to all feedback. That’s great for your employer brand.
How should we respond to reviews?
A good employer response contains the following parts:
- Thank the reviewer for sharing. Begin positively by thanking the reviewer for positive points. It is polite and professional. It’s best never to be defensive or to blame the reviewer.
- Make each response unique for each review. A “copy and paste” response is worse than no response because it shows you are not listening. It’s best to reply to the main points of the reviewer. Thank the reviewer for positive feedback. Regarding critical feedback, you might correct inaccuracies or share actions you are taking to address the criticism.
- Finish with a positive point. End your reply with a positive point of your company that this reviewer may care about.
Example: Here’s a good real response to a review on ITviec:
How should we respond to a 1-star review?
No matter how good of an employer you are, there will be someone who doesn’t have a good experience at your company.
A good way to respond to a critical review with specific points is:
“We’re sorry to hear that you didn’t have a great experience at our company. We do our best to provide a great working environment, and we hate when this happens. [Then a 1-2 sentences about your thoughts on the user’s specific point or points. Do not argue or be defensive].
Note to review readers: If you’d like to know more about how we work please contact me at [email address] or [Skype ID]. We’re always happy to share about our company!”
Should we respond to a favorable review?
Yes! We encourage you to respond to ALL reviews even if it’s just to say “Thank you!” It’s even better if you give more detail about what they like about your company.
Responding to reviews shows job seekers that you care and are engaged with them.
