QC Tester (SQL/ API)

Job description

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: Designs, builds, and maintains multiple manual and automated tests for Web and Windows - based applications using industry best practices and test tools. The QC Tester works frequently with Software Developers and Business Analysts to determine what needs to be tested based on the extent of the changes made by the Software Developer. This position will perform a full range of required tests, including but not limited to Functional Testing, Regression Testing, and Automated Testing.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Test features for our public website and internal applications
• Design and write detailed test cases for each project, ensuring that all functions meet business requirements
• Work with developers and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements and break them down into functional tests and regression tests
• Track tasks, features, and bugs using Azure DevOps in an Agile SCRUM environment
• Review test results with developers and stakeholders to ensure accuracy
• Implement test strategies to maximize business value
• Develop SQL database queries to ensure database integrity during testing and set up test data
• Evaluate and assess testing needs and recommend project priorities
• Troubleshoot test issues before involving development resources
• Understand and apply best practices with CI/CD processes
• Attend and participate in professional group meetings to stay updated on new trends and innovations in software testing
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required. 

Your skills and experience

• Associate's degree or higher in IT, Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in manual web testing
• Knowledge of operations, services, and activities within a comprehensive software development lifecycle
• Strong knowledge of A/B testing methodologies and tools
• Experience with SQL queries, API testing, and AI-powered testing tools is a plus
• Azure DevOps and pipelines experience is a plus
• Knowledge of automation testing is a plus
• Mobile app testing experience is a plus
• Strong analytical, testing, and troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of tracking and analytics
• Basic English communication skills, with the ability to read and write emails and basic reports.
